Hello everyone!

For those new to us, we are a group of people who are planning to participate in walking/running events throughout the year. For most of us, the ultimate goal is to train and compete in the annual WDW Half/Full marathons. We'll also be posting news and training for various other events throughout the year. We range from beginners to triathletes. Come join us, whether you're training for an event or walking/running for fitness!

New WISH Team members. If you read one thing over and over, believe this. Being part of this team is fantastic. Part of the ride you get for the event is what I call the roller coaster. There will be lots of ups and downs. The more you post here, the more you will find yourself enjoying the ride. It is an incredible journey. Don't be afraid, shy or whatever to come here and just post up anything. You don't have to know us right away, or all of us at all. You will get to know some of us. It makes the event you are enjoying have MORE meaning and we love to have you.

Mel,
Will there be another shirt order before January?

Have a great rest of the weekend WISHers! Today was my rest day, tomorrow I hit the pavement!

Not much to report as I'm trying just to come back slowly. I've done 2 miles, 3 different days this week so moving along.

WTG Cam!!!! Congrats on your fabulous pace!

The goat story is really useless without sound effects. When y'all see DH at marathon weekend, ask him to make the goat sound ;)

Anyway we were on our way up the mountain to the cabin we rented. Part of the road passed a farmhouse with goats, chickens, donkeys, etc. We came past the farmhouse and found a goat in the middle of the road. On one side of the road is the farmhouse and the other side is the sheer dropoff. The poor thing seemed scared and just ran around in the road so we couldn't get by. I decided to get out of the car to help. My stepfather's uncle had a herd of goats when i was a kid so I'm thinking this is no big deal. As soon as it saw me, it freaked out and ran toward the dropoff. I'm trying to get it to come back and the freaky goat is screaming like a scared little girl. If it had hands, they would have been flailing in the air. It finally ran back down the road, screaming the whole way. I have never heard a goat make a sound like that!

All of those good thoughts and wishes for my 20 miler must have worked because it was one of my BEST RUNS EVER!!!

So good in fact that I tacked on an extra miler for good measure...

Have a fantastic weekend all. Tomorrow is a rest day for me, then Monday is a holiday so I'm debating a nice long bike ride, complete with a stop for what I hear is some fantastic ice cream...

Carrie and I are trying to coordinate our efforts. Hope to get something started on orders next week.

So today I did a marathon. Well, okay, it was on a bike, but still I think any time one does 26.2 miles, one should take credit! Dh came back from Europe and we went out to ride. My longest ride so far. Rather rolly, with a few big hills (Hey--they were big to me!). Clocked in at 35 mph+ on one downhill. Fun! Also had my first clipped in fall. fortunately it was at very low speed and no damage. Happened so fast I didn't even think to unclip.

Leana WTG on your 20 miler. I am hearing the Jame Earl Jones voice of Darth Vader saying "impressive...most imressive"

Tracy Hope your 8-miler goes well. Don't let yourself get too worked up about the flying.

Debra Dost thou Shakepeare reading goeth well?

Off to bed for me. lamenting yet another Tigers loss. But the Sox won, anyway.

Hi WISHer's,

Sorry it has been such a long time since I've posted. Just been a lot of LTO this summer. Training since the Minnie has been sporadic at best. That really needs to change....time to get my butt back in gear. Since it is already after midnight I know I won't get up early enough to get outside before the heat & humidity kicks in, so I will get myself to the gym for a walk/run on the TM. I have the Philly Distance Run in 7 weeks & I am no where near ready for it. :confused3

I've got lots of reading to do to catch up with everyone. :upsidedow I've missed you guys!

Hope everyone is having a GREAT summer!

Jeff - nice pics!

Karen - good to see you back. I'm in the same boat - Philly Distance Run and not ready for it.

Leanna - way to go on your 21 miles. Great job!:thumbsup2

Mel - glad the goat didn't take a flying leap!

Cam - great job with your pace. You're really doing wonderful. Have fun at the Moshulu. I ate there with friends about 2-3 weeks ago.

Bill - I'm still torn about SA. I really want to do that race, but still trying to determine if I can afford it. I found cheap airfare, but the hotel is killing me (I have a reservation booked, but can cancel if I don't go.) Now there's nothing available near race start/finish, so I'm holding on to that ressie until I make a final decision.

I was hoping to get a good weekend of training in, but so far it hasn't happened. My body is not feeling it. I've had a headache for 2 days and my body feels run down. Muscles ache, legs feel heavy. DOn't know why. Spent most of yesterday lying around and taking naps. Hope it helped. I'm gonna wait till later today and see if I can get in a least a short run.

Terri

Jeff

You are hurting me here. The Dole Plantation, on the saddle, a Dole Whip, the North Shore. Paradise.

I'll catch up with everyone else later, but this one is a very special shout-out:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAM!

I hope today brings you all the love and joy you bring to others. And a couple of cool presents wouldn't hurt either. ;)

Happy Birthday to Cam!!!!!party: :bday: party:

Jeff--Fantastic pics!

Okay, our weather has been down right oppresive this weekend. Yesterday's heat index got up to 114!:scared: Makes even running on the TM unbearable. So instead, we've been in the pool and indulging in a little ice cream (anything to stay cool). We're under a heat advisory until Tuesday--so we'll see if I run any more before then. Supposed to get some heat relief later this week, down to a chilly 95!

Now back to your regulary scheduled broadcast.

Jeff: LOVIN those photos and your girls princess: look like they are lovin those DOLE WHIPS!! YUM...(High temp today in Anaheim is 79)

Maura: Thanks for the cheerleading regarding the flying thing, remind me of that around the end of the month when I get on my plane.

AFM: Got up this morning at 5:45 to be out of the house by 6:30am and woke up to the sounds of rain pounding on my bedroom window. UGH. Went back to sleep for awhile and then turned on the weather channel to get an idea of what was going on. Let the dog out, put on my walkin clothes and then fed the dog. Watched the radar as the blobs of rain moved on through and I finally got out on the streets around 8:45am. (Not the best time to be out) Wasn't too too bad because their was alot of clouds and overcast. Got in my 8miles and the weather held out for the 2 miles. TiVo'ed my CBS Sunday Morning show and watched that while eating. Now checking out NASCAR. #9 is doing pretty well here at Pocono.

Off tonight to El Mariachi's for some good ol' Mexican food. Possibly a beef burrito- my mouth is just a waterin!!

Have a good Sunday!!
(PS - Lost 5lbs on my ol WW plan)

Cam- Happy Birthday!

As for me, met up with my group at 5 am to beat the heat. We did 16 miles, at 10:07 average pace. Just where we want to be.

Got home, washed the car, and now it's time to relax the rest of the day. Have a great one everybody.
