Cam ~ I sent you a link. :lovestruc

Thank you, honey. You should put it in your post, too, so that it is attributed to the source AND people can go to the source if they want. (geez, I sound like a lawyer again -- quick! someone smack me. :rotfl2: )

Actually, I've saved it and added the link to my calendar for January, so that when I am "tapering" in January :surfweb: :happytv: I will feel like I am being sensible rather than lazy.

Sorry don't have any training this week to report but did want to report in and say that we made it through TS Fay - she was a rain event for us in Palm Beach County. She made more of a mess out of the counties just to the north of us - they are dealing with lots of flooding. And it seems Fay is just sitting there on the east coast around Daytona area - still dumping loads of rain with the potential to dump more. As far as winds we didn't have very much - I just appreciated the day off of work on Tuesday and ended up being lazy all day - spent most of it surfing the net and then took a nap!! Nice thing to do on a rainy day.

Tricia -- Thank you so much for letting us know how you are doing. So glad the storm wasn't too bad for you. Is it :sunny: now?

Shan -- Thank you! I hope he can give me something to relieve the congestion in my head, but mostly in my chest. It really only hurts when I try to breathe deeply and end up in a coughing fit.

Thanks for thinking of us Floridians Cam. Unfortunately it is not sunny yet. When I was out at lunch time the bottom feeder band came over us - it was real windy and big rain drops. I am hoping Fay decides to go away soon. Unfortuantely she is quite large and now is moving in a WNW motion at only 2 MPH so she is just sitting there not moving much.

   for teh Floridians. I just can't imagine.....:sad2:

**If you read onteh tri thread, you can ignore this. ;) **
OMG, I can't believe I rode 27 miles last night. We picked up my bike at 4:30, grabbed a quick dinner adn went for a group ride. I didn't work too hard, except on teh big hills. Then, I tended to fall back a bit, but I more than made up in between. OK, so we were in the slowest group, but tha twas fine as teh group ride thing was so foreign to us. We're still evaluating whther it's something we'd do regularly. While it's a bit odd in the group, we'd never go that far on our own. ANd, we'd NEVER do work out fro 1:45 during the week. I am amazed taht my butt didn't hurt when we were done. :-O Oh, my pace was 15.9 mph for 27 miles, including about 4 to 5 miles of stop and go stuff in teh "city". For 18 miles, my pace was 13.8 mph. Yeah, I think the bike works.

Today I was up and out early (7 am). Same as my race start tomorrow. Unfortunately my route runs near a school and down here school is back in session. I decided to cut short after nearly getting hit by a car for the third time. So only 2 miles in 16:50 for me today.

Hi WISHers. :goodvibes

Just got back from my R3/W2. It felt brutal, but yet my average pace was the best it has been since I started back up three weeks ago - 12:41. Neighbor didn't run with me again... Oh, well! Knee felt OK today. And that is a very good thing. Today I went 3.55 miles, not including my walking for warmup and cooldown. Next Monday on to week four! :thumbsup2

Have a nice weekend everyone! :grouphug:

I've been slacking and not posting reports - but I'm still going!

Tuesday-Friday - 5K walk and 10K bike ride every day.

I got a new bike on Saturday, I haven't ridden since I was 13 - only last year! :lmao: Ok, maybe a few years longer than that.

I am loving it - took a couple of days to acclimatize and then on to 10k. I would love to try a tri next year.

.

You are beating me. I am having REAL motivation issues. I actually think it's because I am still on my "work vacation" I think the lack of "structure" makes me even lazier!:lmao: I do start a real job Monday so.....

I did do three miles Wed. Was planning to do longer, but got out there and for some reason it just was horrid! :confused3 By mile three I was kind of queasy and weaving so I called it a day. And that night my legs flat out hurt. Not a clue what was going on!

Tomorrow is my Galloway Group run for five miles. Wish me luck!

Help! I've developed a HUGE blister on my heel. My running shoes have a little hole rubbed through the material right at the heel. I don't know what to do with it. Do I need new shoes? I tried covering my heel with bandaids but they rub out of place and expose the blister again. It's to the point of blood and being so painful I can't even put my shoes on. Yuck! Any magical blister cures or advice? :confused3

Bandaids don't work!

Go to the local drugstore and look for the BandAid Blister Block things. I can't recall the real name, but they are in the foot care section specifically marketed for blisters. These things STAY in place for days and really work!

Hi all you WISHers.
Here in Pembroke Pines, FL we are still getting feeders bands from TS Fay. -UGH!!! Could NOT go out tonght and get my 4 miles in. I did get to go to Mount Trashmore last night and got inthe miles there. I guess I will try in the morning.
Just tapering for the DL half and gettin my stuff together for packing and then I fly out on Thursday later afternoon. I have 6 more sleeps until I leave.

Take care everyone,

Racey Tracy

Copying from another thread...

Tomorrow night is the Marathon so we'll be glue to our tv .

I had to catch the women's marathon on NBC replay site. Unfortunately there is no commentary, just the race.

Did anyone else catch Paula Radcliff take a detour to the side of the road just at the half marathon mark? She had to squat down, pull her shorts to the side, and PEE!!! There is even a slow motion replay of it. Fortunately it wasn't a close up shot. :happytv:

Hi, everyone! Got in 4.6 today. Pretty slow, since I'm still fighting an ear infection and sinus infection. My running partner, Patty, and I decided to slow it way down so that I could get in any miles at all, so we did 4 laps around the cinder track at our state park. Overall pace was sub-14:00 with most of the intervals being R3/W2. We usually go out 6:30 or 6:45 am but wanted to do this at the state park and it doesn't open until 8. Started later made it tough. But I'm glad those miles are done. Hoping by the time I run again on Tuesday my chest won't be so congested.

So, how is everyone else doing? :grouphug:

OMG! That's too funny!

I got up this morning and did five miles with my Galloway Group. I have to start doing more during the week, but hopefully this week will be better.

I realized I SCREWED up. I am in the LA area this week and I could have stayed to cheer everyone on and didn't even think about it. Now it would cost a LOT to change the ticket.....

Had my last race of the summer/season today. I had to get up at 5:30 am and leave the house by 6. I don't see how you guys who run everyday that early do it. This was probably the toughest course I've raced (my practice route is still tougher though), very rolling with some decent hills and pretty narrow. It was also the biggest race I've done, but....
I PR'd 25:10 unofficially (25:12 officially)
I won my age group (including beating the girl whose always beat me)
And I finished 100th out of 260 runners (note: there were 3 high school and 2 jr. high cross country teams and those kids are FAST)

Glad to know those of you in Florida are okay.

Best,
Jennifer

Carrie Or should I call you "Speed Queen"--way to rock the bike! Sounds like you had a great ride

Tracy Glad you came through Fay unscathed and hope the remaining weather leaves soon. Good luck next weekend.

Wellesleyprincess If you keep getting faster you're going to run right off this WISH board!;) Great job on your race

I went for 21 today on my bike with a group including DH. 1:20. Maybe I should just stick to the bike and give up the running, but I'm not ready to give in yet.

Everyone else--keep at it, you're all doing great (well--better than me!)

Maura
