Mouse Skywalker said:Sunny- If you can fly from Manchester or Providence, you can fly on Southwest to Orlando. Right now both Providence and Manchester to Orlando is ~$260 round trip (I put in Jan 4 - 9th as the dates) for nonstop flights. As you may know, the nice thing about Southwest is that if you have to cancel a flight the money stays in your account as a credit for a future flight. You could make your reservation to Orlando, and cancel it the day you have to leave. You would get a $260 credit in your Southwest account that you could then use to book another flight. So you wouldn't lose your money if you had to cancel. Plus, if the flight goes down in price - say through a sale or DING fare, you could cancel your flight, rebook at the cheaper price and the difference would be left in your account to use for future travel.
Christa- I hope you are feeling better. Any idea what hit you yet? I hope you aren't getting any sicker.gatorphipps said:![]()

Got up this morning to do my Short LR with DH and BIL. When I got up, I had such bad heart burnThat I could hardly keep anything down. I also had other gastro issues that we won't discuss here
Anywho, I did eat toast and 1/2 a banana and took 4 tbsp of pepto (2 tbsp 1/2 an hour a part). Then I took 2 tums at the start of the run (can you see where this is going?)
I started and prayed for Sunny during the 1st 2 miles. I though, If I can make it to Bree's (@ the 5 mile mark after getting kind of lost on the new route) I will be OK. NOT! I thought...ditch the 10 miles and do the 7 miles with DH and BIL.
Sunny - I tried to keep praying for you, but my prayer started to be help me not to throwup on Park Road...a VERY busy street!
Got 2 more tums from Bree and the guys caught up to me. Ditched my H2O belt b/c it hurt to wear it. Ran to what I thought was 1 more mile (mile 6) then walked the rest of the way. Total 6.3 miles of running in lots of tummy pain and 1.4 miles of walking..DH wanted to come and pick me up but I was just a block away at this point. The total route was 7.7 miles.I maped it out and thought it was 7...where did the .7 come from??
The break down of miles:
1: 7:30 - started 2 fast, but was trying to catch up after 1st bathroom break
2: 10:00 - caught up with guys and stayed w/ them
3: 8:30 - left guys and tried to get to Bree's and make up time
4: 9:00 - O the pain!
5: 9:30 - stopped @ Bree's and though I was feeling better
6: 10:00 - took a walk break so I would not throw up
7: turned off watch and walked the rest of the way!
So sorry this was ALL ABOUT ME...I will try to catch up with everyone later! I still don't feel good so I am going to lay down.

I did 45 min on the elliptical yesterday. I'm going to try to do 4 miles today in preparation for the start of real training next week. MfM has a 5 mile LR next Saturday, so I thought it would make sense to do a 4 miler today. I'm up now drinking some water and getting ready to eat a bagel to get something in me before I run.
Great training everyone!

Oh, I just remembered, I got ran off the road by a car. It really made me mad. This kid driving a junker is coming straight at me, and would not move over. I had to jump off the road into the grass, and as he passed me he leaned forward in his car and flipped me the finger. I was so mad!!!
OK, that's all for me - have a great day everyone.
keenercam said:Anyway, it was a pretty ugly 9 miles. Not even overall marathon pace. UGH! I am going to hope it was lack of sleep and lack of breakfast that are to blame for my slow pace. Otherwise I'd be feeling pretty desperate about being able to pull it off for DL.
