My training for the weekend consisted of walking 3 miles with my mother and Lynne. We kept asking her how far she wanted to walk as she has had both knees replaced and we didn't want her to be in pain. She kept saying she was fine so I decided to turn around at the 1.5 mile marker. We accomplished the walk in about an hour.
Sunday, I went to Beaver Lake Nature Center with Lynne. While she was running , I walked 7.5 miles at a 16.13 pace. If I want to get the medal at the Army Ten Miler, I need to maintain a 15 min pace. I have 7 more Sat LW to get my time faster.
I am going to sign up to walk the full in January. I am not sure I will actually be able to do the race but I am going to train as much as possible. I am having surgery on my right shoulder (again) on Oct 12 to repair a full thickness rotator cuff tear. It is the same shoulder I had the bicep tendon rapaired on last August. I should be in good shape if I can start walking again soon after surgery. I will listen to the surgeon as this will be my 3 surgery on that shoulder and I want it to heal properly. Even if I don't race, i will be there to cheer everyone on.
Carrie - great pace on you run
Pat - congrats on the CDC. The medal looks great.
Mel - great time on you run.
Sunny - get better soon so you can join us in Jan.
Lily - glad you are able to come in January again.
Terri - great training run.
Sonya - great time on your half.
Cam - great job fitting training into your busy schedule. You will do great on the DL half and have a head start on the marathon training.
Happy training everyone.
