Sunny- Oh Sunny, you are making me infuriated with your doctors.
I am growing to hate them, and I don't use that word often. I'm not even going to address the weight loss comments - from these boards I think I know you better than those doctors and that can not be your major problem at this point. I hope you get the help and attention you need soon. I admire you for not giving up on your dream. If you want to start training, you might think about the deep water running that I was doing. It will have no impact whatsoever on your spine, and will use all the same muscles as running. Might be worthwhile giving a try. Hang in there Sunny - we're here with you!!!! I'm sorry you had such a horrendous day. I agree with what Paul and some others have said - you are such an inspiration to all of us here. We won't give up on you at all, and I can't wait to meet you in January!
Christa- Good luck with your training for the Triple Lakes Trail Marathon. I also totally agree with your comment to Susie; I definitely post here because I don't have it together...
Bill- Thanks for the advice about icing the shins. Point well taken, I probably should continue to ice some too. Good luck with your long walk today.
Mel- Great job with your TM wog! Glad the R7/W3 interval is going well and your brain isn't protesting too much. I missed out on the bracelet order, but I like the picture of the bracelets. I like that the letters are kind of subtle - it's like a secret message just to me. I might order a couple of those. So you just went and did labs on yourself? Wow, it's a good thing I don't have this ability. I would be way too nerdy/geeky and be doing labs on myself every week. Don't get too down on yourself about the cholesterol. Yes, so you are borderline, who knows how it would be if you were not running? You are keeping it under control the best you can.
Hi Jodi
No, I haven't broken the news to DW yet. I'm going to wait a little while longer (maybe October) to get into my marathon training. So she can see my legs are holding up and I'm really serious about doing this. I love your pictures. The Mickey balloons are great! I think I need to do some serious thought and planning about this! Your plan for races this Fall sounds great! They sound like a lot of fun!
CJ- You're right - keep moving forward. You're doing it!
Holly- Wow, you are fast! Great job on your 3 miles.
Paul- Glad Southwest worked out for you!
Howard- 10 miles! Whoa, WTG! Have fun with your LR on Saturday!
Howard and Cam- Good luck with DD's college dropoff! She will be great, and you have done such a great job raising her.
OK, time to get ready for work. Here's some extra PD for Sunny
(I figured you need the full Tinkerbell treatment).

and even more
! I don't really have anything more to add that the others here have already said. Just keep your chin up. You have come so far from everything I've read about you. I really don't think this is going to keep you down! Hang in there and don't push yourself too hard, ok?
I don't know what is wrong with me this week. Except for being even more sleep-deprieved than usual. And I better get my behind out there a.s.a.p. - I gained 4.4 lbs. in one week! I have one more week on WW to be Lifetime and I might be screwing that up. I don't get Lifetime if I gain .6 or .8 more next week.

Nothing big, but every little thing that could go wrong...did. I didn't get to bed until late, then I couldn't get to sleep, then , naturally, I didn't get up this morning. So no training to report. And just when I was all sorts of excited about my new intervals. Grrrrr.
There's a little something we say around here that you should know about. DLF>DNF>>DNS. This means "dead last finish beats did not finish which greatly trumps did not start". We sort of live by those words. They are even on our racing team shirts this year. By taking those first steps you are ALREADY AHEAD of those who did not even start. So you are well on your way to greater things. I say GOOD FOR YOU!!!
OMG! OMG! I am SO taping that to the TM, the fridge, my monitor, my forehead..... Oh Kevin, thank you so much.
Cecelia, that is too funny! Yes, my arms hurt too when I run hard.
DH has been telling me to slow down my LR's, I am glad I am listen to him. I am sure I could have ran at least 4 more miles today, so I am excited about my 16 and 18 mile runs in the next few weeks.
when you tell them about your Disney marathon plans! Take notes because we want to hear all about it!
That I could hardly keep anything down. I also had other gastro issues that we won't discuss here
actually i'm trying to get my parents to stop at the nike factory store and pick me up another pair of shoes and some more running socks. hopefully they will. if not i will have to wait until i can get to one! dutch springs was cool. i liked the helicopter. i wanted to go back in for an extra dive after we were finally certified but my sister started to pitch a fit to get home in time for a picnic. it would only have taken 30 more min to do another dive!
I have a 5K tonight, actually I'm kind of excited about it, Stephen and I are running it and my Mom, Dad, and younger sister are walking it. This is my dad's and sister's first 5K.
