I'm behind on the weekly thread! Oops, how did that happen?
Brandie: Good job taking it easy after overdoing the run and getting shin pain. I find it really difficult to do so, and always regret not listening to my body. How are your shins feeling, btw?
Tracy: Woo hoo on getting an unexpected compliment (Mount Trashmore). I'd float on air after a moment like that. How is your back these days? P.S. Love the beach pictures.
Shan: Congratulations on getting the green light to run again. I can't believe it's already been six weeks. I hope the return to running is smooth and easy.
Christa: Wow, that's a fast 8 miles--especially in the heat. Hugs to DD. Sounds like strep is going around.
Jackie: You had about the near-perfect day. A great 10 miler, gait analysis, new shoes (to match your old ones) and at a discount!
Laurel: Great 10 miler and on a difficult course! Your half marathon sounds challenging too, but it sounds as if you've been training for it!
Mel: Your schedule is great--you're managing to hit your running and XT goals with all the other demands on your time. Only 2 one-minutes walking breaks for your 5K. You'll eliminate those in no time. (Can't say the same for me. Me likey the walky.

)
Sk8ingMom: Welcome! I must have missed your arrival--re-arrival! I love the idea of a 1/10 IM. Yeah for completing your first week of C25K. You've got a great time--faster than I was when I started.

Congratulations, I think, for moving to VA where you can in-line skate/train. (Although I see from you're from Alaska, so I hope the move away wasn't too traumatic.)
Lily:
for your 10 miles and for finding your mojo. I know tha chronic pain can really affect everything in our lives, and hope your treatments are easing yours. I'm glad you have CMM to look forward to, and good luck on the event. And give Kirby a treat for me. He's a great training partner.
Frank: No pressure on the 2010 marathon--just know your presence/absence would be noted.

How are you feeling about your training? And your taper is a week long? (I tend to do that because I tend to come in undertrained.) Is this your personalized Frank's Fun Run training plan?

Oh, and my apologies for putting Jeff on the wrong cruise. Maybe I just think ALL his trips are Disney related? And there's got to be other people on the podcast cruise...maybe Erica or Mousewalker Dave. (Hmmm, does Debra just have a good, if occasionally faulty, memory or is she a creepy stalker?

)
Jennifer: WTG with the 11 miles. Respectable completion? You're doing much better than that. But notice how I don't ask you about that super-secret goal. 4 weeks gives you plenty of time to refine your race-day strategies, not to mention picking your lucky outfit. (I kid you not...I obsess about race-day wear.) I'm so proud of how smart you've trained. Not just fast, but smart. (Thinking about how you listed to your body and took it easier over spring break, for instance.)
Goofy57: Congrats on your week's training, esp. your 12 mile LR. And--grumble, grumble--congrats on pursuing the C2C medal. Green with envy, I am, and not lime green.
Aloha Jeff: Nice run and pace (est. of course). You must have fueled on ice cream or Thin Mints. I think you can run faster, though.

Astronomy day sounds really, really cool. I can see why you're a Girl Scout, er, leader.
Maura: Thank you for volunteering at the Martian. And how cool to see Carrie, Scott, and Margie! Are you doing okay with your tri training? You even sound a little tired.
Kira: Well, your week sounds both exciting and exhausting! I do hope you get a chance to relax. And I just have to say that Will's theater experience? Moliere? Wow. Funny but tough to do. And I remember your DD's participation in the Jane Yolen ballet. Your kids have had some truly exceptional educational/artistic experiences.
Maggie: Welcome!

You're off to a great start. Competitive swimmer, huh? You probably have the shoulders and back muscles I would like to have.
Joan: I'm glad to hear your knee pain has subsided and that you took it easy to test it out.

(Easy for YOU, that is.)
As for me: Not a lot of new stuff to report. Running on Saturday along with strength training; XT Sunday, along with doing taxes; XT today, along with my birthday. So far, though, no ice cream, cake or bourbon today. What's wrong with this picture....

I think that needs to rectified. Immediately!
