Hello! I was reading a funny running book and the author was mentioning that there were several things he DIDN'T like the spectators to yell as encouragement.
I thought I'd ask here, having never done an event, what kinds of things DO you like to hear when you're doing a marathon or any other endurance event? What DON'T you like to hear? What do you find esp encouraging?
I got in 6 miles today, last LW before the Minnie, then had to go to the chiropractor, as my hip was twisted and it started bothering my knee. It's from my shoes that correct my gait.

) of hearing in the last mile not less than 100 times..."Are you okay" (no--but I'm finishing go away!) "Is someone with you?" (Do you not see my TNT coach standing next to me you silly TNT coach from another chapter who does not know me?) "Do you want a drink of water, you should really drink" (Yeah and I'll puke it right up on you--but thanks for offering for the 50th time in the last 5 strides).

Wow, does that bring back great memories!
This pic and Cam's, Krista's and Dave's Mickey pictures. I am feeling the love again for marathoning!
