The fall has only allowed me 1 slooow run/walk this week. Appreciate everyone's good advice on recovery of twisted ankle/skinned knee/bruised hip. Still have 14 days till Indy Mini so we'll see if I can't get back in the game this weekend.
Amy: Congrats on your first 5k. Another step on your adventure to WDW marathon. Listen to your body...we all forget that sometimes and think we have to push thru it and stick to the plan no matter what. Make it about finishing, not time. Don't let the jack rabbits bother you, your "time" will come.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Keep moving forward...

I recently realized that I have spent years coasting through life trying for reasons that I cannot possibly explain to conserve energy. I have been trying to surpass my limits this past week and change that mind set. That's what got me to start wogging again instead of only walking, and why I increased my laps in the pool. No more coasting to save energy for me!
, although I doubt I would have had a problem because I ended up gaining 3 pounds (not a big deal, not a true gain).

What a cool experience....it was so great to be among so many runners. Everyone was incredibly supportive and helpful. My friend went with me...she's FAST so we didn't run together...but she showed me the ropes and introduced me to her Team in Training friends. They were GREAT and I paced nicely with them and made some new friends today
. But I wasn't. And when at 2 miles the guy was yelling out times and he said 17:56 I nearly fell over
. "You talkin' to me" ???
. But my friends who finished before me a little bit came in at 29:10 I think? Not sure where that puts me but I watched them cross so I'm still hoping that I broke 30:00. I'll have to report back later when the times are up on compuscore. We waited around to see if two of the people in our little group placed...one was a boy who finished REALLY fast and the other was my friend who came with me....she forgot to check her time when she finished too so had no idea how well she did. But they had some sort of "glitch" with the scores/timing so we decided to head home.
.
Thanks again, for all the support and advice I get here. I know this is just a small race compared to WDW marathon. But it was successful and I learned so much today. I'm going to keep training and looking forward to January....and celebrate all of these accomplishments along the way.
