Good Morning Team:
I did my 14 mile LR on Saturday! It was a tough, tough run. I knew there was a big hill, but I didn't realize just how big and long it was. It was one of those things where when you drive it time and time again in a car, you think it's flat but it's really not. When I downloaded the info from my Garmin I learned that the first 7 miles were all uphill and I gained 700 feet in elevation - 700 feet in 7 miles!!! It was a 7 mile hill! My legs were dead after that. Then you go down the hill, and I lose those 700 feet in the next 1.5 miles. By the time I got to about 10-11 miles, I was just wanting the run to be done. It wasn't a stonker run, just a really hard run. My stats were 14 miles, 2:28.08, 10:35 mpm. That was my last LR before the Pig, and I definitely think I'm ready for any hills on the course in Cincinnati.

In addition, we had a great, great overnight trip down to the lake. It felt so good to just get away and get out of town for the day. The hotel was great, we all swam in the pool, had a great dinner Friday night, and all watched a movie before going to bed. Saturday morning, I followed my normal LR routine, got up at 5am, had coffee and an energy bar. I sat in a really comfortable lounge in the hotel lobby. One of the hotel workers even brought me a paper and turned on the fireplace for me. I was on the road at 7am, and back to the hotel after my run at 9:45a. We asked for a late checkout, and were able to go for a swim when the pool opened again at 10:00a. That felt soooooo good on the legs.
OK, we're getting snow now. I hope everyone in the northeast doesn't get too socked in with snow. Have a great day everyone.
