Wk of 30 November - WISH Walking and Running Club

Well Jeff, all I can say is it was a lovely 22 degrees here and I was out in it! I really enjoyed this day. We'll see how I am singing after tomorrow. I'm hoping I can get outside for the LR since TM is not my friend. Yet. Good luck everyone on your LRs.

oh I am getting sooooo excited!!!

I finished my 18 miler yesterday. It was still rather cool when I headed out at 9:30am (I was wearing two long sleeved running shirts and running tights and my mickey knit hat). It was hard but I had my motto: Just keep going...just keep going (think Dorie from Nemo...just keep swimming). I at least knew I HAD run this before, but it was long. I decided to ice my legs after I got back. This was the first time I did an ice bath. (I've put ice packs tho) Those people have got to be CRAZY! (*cough cough* JEFFFFFFF) I managed to keep my feet in it all of about 20 seconds and I poured the water over my calves. That's all I could take. I just kept telling myself "I'll be glad for it tonight/tomorrow??" But after waking up today and being completely NOT SORE I am a fan. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can do an ice bath after the half and full....

Our local marathon runs through campus today, so I went out along the course on my skates and encouraged them. :thumbsup2

Good job Tracy and Claire. Oh, my - 67 degrees?

I ran 9 miles yesterday.
Fridays I do my LRs when the girls are still in school.
Still to go -

And then BAM! - the half. :woohoo:

Hi Everyone!

Between Tricia's "38 Days to the Race" thread and Tracy's reminders of how soon this was I found some motivation this week.:cheer2:

Did the Dreadmill two nights this week at my hotel. Only did 30 mintues but it's a HORRID Treadmill. It's amazing how different machines can be. The one's at my Y are nice but this one... YUCK!

This morning I rejoined a Galloway Group and did 8 miles. And it was COLD!!! I think the TV said 28 degres, but I tried not to look. I don't think I have warmed up yet! The new group is MUCH smaller the the old one. There were only three of us in my 2/1 group. I might try the 3/1 next week for the four mile run.

At least both of my upcoming events are in Florida where hopefully it will be warmer then 28! (And no Jeff, I didn't just transpose the 82 you posted about)

Finally booked a plane ticket this week... And booked it for the wrong day.:lmao: I was going to fly down Friday but booked Thursday. Went back to cancel and re-book (I was within the free change period) and found out it's a LOT more to fly Friday so I am coming down Thursday. (I already had my DVC booked for Thur and was just going to cancel it, but now I will keep it!) I fly from MCO Monday to Los Angeles for work.....

Hope everyone has a good (and warm!) weekend!

I am done with the 18-miler. Jeff, I've got a pic too. Soon as I get it out of my camera I'll post it. Camera has to thaw...was really cold and snowy today!

I did my last 8 miler this morning. A full week off before next Sunday's Honolulu Marathon.

Tomorrow is the Doc's last clinic talk to discuss the week leading up to the race, race day, and the week following.

I will cruise the EXPO on Wednesday, carbo party with Frank Shorter and Jeff Galloway on Friday, relax on Saturday, and 26.2 on Sunday.

Here's a few shots from my run this morning.

Nice pics Jeff!

Awaiting the photo from Lily.

I have a 12 miler on tap for tomorrow - not my fav distance. I didn't have much of an issue two weeks ago with my 10 and I usually do, so we'll see what happens. At least temps will be nice, when I start it will be around 61 and then be the time I finish (about 3 hours later) it is supposed to be 66.
