Forgive me if this has already been discussed....

From Mugglenet.com:

Universal to expand Wizarding World within next two to three years?

If you've visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando, you likely passed through The Lost Continent area of the Islands of Adventure. It's the area right before the Wizarding World if you're entering via the Hogwarts Express entrance.
You probably flew right through it because you were too excited to get to The Wizarding World. Upon passing it again as you left The Wizarding World (filled with Butterbeer), you probably looked around The Lost Continent and thought 'meh'.
You're not the only one who gave it a meh. And it looks like Universal agrees too. MuggleNet reader Kelsey tells us she was on a tour of the park the other day when a Universal guide told her that within the next two or three years The Wizarding World would expand and replace The Lost Continent.
In my opinion, The Lost Continent is begging to be replaced. Potter could do so much better in that area. And this is in line with a number of strong rumors we've heard that say Universal has an agreement with Warner Brothers insisting on new additions to The Wizarding World in two to three years.
So, this means we could see an addition to the park opening possibly as early as Summer 2012. If it were to open then, Universal certainly has some plans in the works right now. What would YOU like to see added to The Wizarding World?

While it is complete hearsay and the original post is from Perezhilton.com, it is rather interesting!

The chances of WWoHP expanding further into the Lost Continent is around 95%. I believe the podcast crew predicted it a while back. It just makes good sense. I for one hope they do it as quickly as possible.

Me, too. There is so much more they could do, and shops big enough to accommodate a reasonable number of guests would be great. I'd have to give some thought to what type of attraction I'd like to see. For sure, I'd like it to be something that everyone can ride, not just the thrill-seeker adrenalin junkies.

I have no doubt that the Wizarding World will expand - it's already showing itself to be far more popular than what currently surrounds it. I'm more doubtful about the timeline. We'll see what happens, but the likelihood of Universal coming under new ownership before any further updates to the parks is very high. At that point, it becomes a question of whether new ownership overpays and feels cash-strapped or ends up buying at a discount and having cash ready to pay for a major project immediately.

It was always going to expand - it is in the contract to have to add new attractions.

We are not big coaster people, so something more along the lines of a Disney dark ride would be great. I think all of the Gringots scenes just scream "roller coaster with a giant dragon at the end". Maybe a show of some sorts. Perhaps their new shopping expansion could be Diagon Alley.

Get rid of Poseidon's Tantrum (not Fury, that would be giving it too much credit). And the SinBAD show for sure. There's a lot of space there to work with. Anything to replace those would be a major plus.

Lori, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel! :rotfl2:
