With the new changes, will I be able to do this?

I am paying for a child plan for DS9 who is a big eater and loves new, gourmet foods. DS11 and I are lighter eaters so I think we will have extra meals at the end of the trip. Can we use an adult meal sometimes for DS9?
I'm not talking about ordering an adult meal for a child credit. I'm wondering about 4 meals for 4 credits?

I am assuming you mean switching meals with your 9 year old and you eating the child meal. I believe as long as you order 2A2C at the same meal they don't care who eats it as long as you are charged accordingly.

Not really,
I mean if you can buy a meal for a stranger why can't I buy an adult meal for my child and get charged an adult meal?

If I can't we will probably order 3 TS meals and an extra appetizer for me (OOP) I prefer to drink water anyway.

We are getting the DP because we are travelling with my parents and they think it will be awesome. I hate to overeat (IBD) so I will be ordering light.

I don't think you'll have any trouble doing that, as long as you're not trying to order more adult meals than you have adults on your plan. I'm sure they don't care who eats what. They're trying to curb abuse and what you want to do is not abuse.

But you can't do that! That's the point of the whole "no more adult meals than you have on the dining plan" requirement. The server is subject to discipline -- up to and including termination -- if they let you order more meals in a particular category than you have participants in that category.

If the ability to order more adult meals at a particular sitting is important to your DDP decision, you'd better rethink your plans.

At any one meal you will only be allowed to order the number of adult meals that matches what is on your plan. 3 adults would be able to order 3 meals or less, but not more.

OK, I think we will be OK but I was just wondering, I specifically made ADR's based on him getting "grown-up" meals easily at Cape May b-fast, Ohana, WCC, etc.
I'm most concerned about Counter Service places.

Under the new system, they are tracking credits seperately for both TS and CS outlets.

Actually, you cannot buy a meal for a stranger. The 2007 brochure makes it very clear that that isn't allowed.

CMs are required to keep patrons to the maximums indicated on their room keys. If you're one adult and one child, your room keys will say 1A1C and you'll only be allowed to cover a maximum of one adult meal on the Dining Plan per meal seating.

At 'Ohana he can eat the same thing as you for his child's credit. There is (or was at the beginning of November) a skillet on the menu at WCC. You could always pay cash for his meals when you needed to.
