With the major expansion in the number of new dvc members

I vote for a new park...But what would the new theme be?

I'd be happy with a virtual park...

just a site with dozens and dozens of live webcams from all over WDW and the resorts - street cams, ride cams, parade cams, restaurant cams, fireworks cams, beach cams, lobby cams, store cams, show cams

all of it just to get your daily fix.

How 'bout "DIS-World" -- everything could be lime green !!!

You could have:

DebateLand where everyone would be required to put in their two cents.

BudgetLand where everyone would be required to save their two cents.

CommunityLand where everyone would be required to share their two cents.

and last but not least --

DVCLand where everyone would be required to give testimony as to why their two cents is better than everyone else's.

All in good fun !!!

Or how about DVC land? We could have valet parking and long hallways and room service for the lazy, and large accomodations, peace and quiet and parking outside the door for the old timers. I supose there would have to be continuous pool hopping and free passes for everyone!

Oh yeay, I forgot to say ...absolutely NO more than 4 in a studio, no matter what their age!:jester:

Naah. Just keep adding to the existing parks. A new theme park would just mean more time spent on WDW transportation to visit more under-utilized real estate.

Even after the Stunt Show and Expedition Everest, MGM and AK could still use a couple of "E Tickets" before another park should even be considered.

I vote for finishing AK, and for cleaning up MGM--getting rid of that awful gigantic hat, fixing up the Chinese, waking the animation studio back up. Right now they're each good for maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of 1 day. Build them up enough to deserve 2 days apiece.

So true about AK and MGM! There is so much that can be improved. When we last went to AK, it seemed as though there was nothing but vendors. Felt more like a flea market than a theme park. :(

I would like to see a Disney Sea Orlando like the one that Mary recently reviewed at Mousesavers. Each area is themed after different ports. It's supposed to be fantastic. I think the Japanese have quite a bit more money to spend than over here.

BTW...
getting rid of that awful gigantic hat

I actually love the gigantic Mickey hat!

and...Calypso, about the DIS land...too funnny!

:rotfl:

I agree about AK and MGM. We didn't even visit them this trip. They need a few more things to liven them up (and I don't mean just thrill rides).

I agree about Disney Seas. I saw a special on Travel Channel (I think that's where it was) and it looks absolutely amazing. I can't imagine how much it would cost to build here, but it would be worth it. I bet it would become the most popular park (after MK, of course).

Absolutely need a thrill ride park. With the special magic of course.:earsboy:

I actually developed a new appreciation for AK on this trip. From our last trip we felt AK was 1/2 day park. But we really took our time and since it wasnt too crowded, we spent a lot of the time on the trails where you could see the tigers, bats, etc.... It was great to just take your time and walk through the park. With the addition of the Everest ride, and maybe some more touches in Asia - they can really complete that place.

I do agree the MGM could add a few more things - although we love TOT and Aerosmith ride so much. Cant wait for the new show they have opening in 2005

I remember watching a show on the travel channel about some type of sunrise tour you could take at AK. Have any of you done the tour or know more about it. The reason I ask is because we always seem to hit AK on days/times that the animals are not very active. I think that's part of the reason we do not enjoy the park as much as we should.

The sunrise safari is only available to concierge level guests at the AKL. They take an extended private tour of the AK Kilimanjaro Safari and behind the scenes, then have a private breakfast in the park.
