How will the new photo pass option work if just my DD has an AP?

We travel just once per year, but DD went twice last year so we got an AP for her. Her AP expires 4/12, so she can use it for the first 4 days of our vacation but then we leave for a cruise on 4/11. After the cruise she will need a park ticket for 3 days. A 3 day PH from UT is $424. If I have her renew her AP as Gold, it is $466.

We have always get the Memory Maker which I believe was $169 last year when we bought it in advance. But if she gets the PP for free with her AP, aren't I better off renewing her pass? Am I missing something? If the PP is linked to her, would she have to be the one to scan her band for the pictures, ride photos, etc? Does this PP come with the ride videos?

Thanks!

For this to work, I believe that your daughter will need to have her own MDE account (if she doesn't already). This is because (I believe) the person that logs on to the PhotoPass website needs to have the entitlement that allows downloads.

The rest of the family members will need to be connected to her MDE account via the Family & Friends list. DD should be able to see and download the pictures taken of anyone in her Family & Friends list.

I think it will work. I'm kind of wondering the same thing. If we do renew our APs this year, I want to get one Gold and the rest of the family Silver for this reason.

I doubt anyone has tested this yet.

If there's a way to work a system, dis boarders find it! Yay for ya'all.

Some people are reporting that you get pictures for anyone listed as family or friends in your MDE account. No way to know if that will change if Disney catches on to people only buying 1 pass that includes PP and keeping silver for everyone else.

I suggest you recheck your figures on the price of a Parkhopper pass. According to the Disney website, Magic Your Way Park Hopping 3-day ticket is only $346.13, including tax.

I'm not trying to work the system. I was asking a question about what makes the most fiscal sense.
Work the system......Disney's system sure works us!

I think it should work. Yes....have your daughter scan her band for all pictures to be sure. I'm not happy it will cost us $80 more when we buy our passes in December. We are using UT tickets to then bridge, then upgrade to AP. In the end it will cost me $80 more than planned, but we do get the photos. Not something we would have bought before, but my wife is thrilled to get now. Me? I'd rather save the $80.....so we weren't already saving $115 with the UT tickets, then I'd be a little more upset about it.

I thought I read where the photos from 'family and friends' will NOT be available with the new perk (if it's coming from the AP account). The AP holders band will need to be the one scanned for the picture to be available!
