With a heavy heart...we've cancelled our trip

Well after 6 weeks of going back and forth we've decided to cancel our upcoming June trip. :guilty:

We took our new little one over Spring Break ( he was 10 weeks). While it was VERY easy with him...he did have a hard time in the heat. And peak temp. was 80! Knowing that it will be MUCH hotter in June we've made the decision to cancel our trip.

We debated back and forth on if we should go and leave him behind with grandma. I know he would be fine. And my older kids would've loved the opportunity to take a trip where we could all ride everything together. On past trips I was either pregnant or my other ds was too little. But I would be miserable being away from him for so long. And I'm nursing and I don't want to ruin that either...although he does great going back and forth from nursing to a bottle.

We got 3 trips out of our AP's. 2 weeks last summer at Beach Club and AKL. A surprise trip over Thanksgiving when I was 34 weeks pregnant! :thumbsup2 And 10 days at Easter. So we definitely got our monies worth.

We'll buy AP's again in 2011. And for now I'll live vicariously through all of you as you take your summer trips. :goodvibes

Sitting here holding my sweet baby boy in my arms definitely makes it worth waiting though. :cloud9:

It sounds like you made the right decision. 2011 will be here before you know it and the the whole family can enjoy Disney together. :)

Oh, I know it is always hard to cancel a trip!! Sounds like you did get great use out of your AP's, though!! At least you have a plan for going back again!:cool1:We love it when we have AP's. Disney definitely gets their money - we're always trying to plan another trip before the passes expire!

I see my family is similar to yours. I have DD12, DD10, DS4, and a new DS 7 weeks! Congratulations on your new little one! Sometimes I can't believe I have 4 kids! - but it's so much fun:goodvibes and I always love having a baby around:cloud9:

We're planning on going down to Disney tomorrow, actually, for a quick weekend trip. I promised my DD10 that we could go to Disney for her 10th birthday. Since we don't have passes now, we're just going down to swim, do some character dining, check out Chip and Dale's campfire and movie, maybe go horseback riding, etc. We plan on going again in November - so plan on getting passes then - and making plans for as many trips as we can squeeze in for the next 12 months:yay:

Good to hear that your new DS did well on your trip, except for the heat. I'll have to do what I can to keep my baby DS in the air condition as much as possible this weekend. Since we're not going to the parks - planning on just taking it slow and easy:thumbsup2

Oh how I wish we could do a weekend trip like that. But it's a 15 hour drive for us...each way! :scared1:

How neat that you have 2 older dd's and 2 little boys as well. I always wanted my kids close together but infertility issues led to having kids so far apart. It's been nice though to have so much time with each baby. :goodvibes
