Today is Saturday, and the plan was to sleep in as long as everyone needed. We had a 10:30 breakfast PS at Whispering Canyon @ Wilderness Lodge. We were all up and about fairly early and boarded a boat for WL at 9am. My DH adored the looks of the place. I thought it was nice, but not my cup of tea. A bit too dimly lit for a person like myself with night blindness, lol. We were able to get a table at 9:30 with no waiting. To me this breakfast was just "okay". DH and I had the skillet, DD had pancakes, and DS ordered bagels and cereal. Our waitress CM was pleasant but seemed absent-minded, maybe just very busy. We saw another CM whooping and hollering with some other folks celebrating birthdays...that was fun. After we ate we browsed the gift shops.
The plan was to head over to Wide World of Sports, which DH was desperate to visit. When we exited the WL, the heat hit us like a ton of bricks. The kids begged to go back to the Contemp. for a swim. Sounded good to me! We hadn't been in the pools yet. We took the boat back to the resort and noticed the different boats you could rent at the Contemp. We rented a canopy boat and DH was in his glory! That was a really nice time for us all. I loved all the different views of the resorts we had from the water. When our time was up we headed to our room to change into our bathing suits, all except DH, who sat poolside in his 2 layers of t-shirts, socks and sneakers, lol, he stood out like a sore thumb. The pool was great! The temperature...perfect! The kids loved the water slide and it was not too crowded. We were able to grab 4 lounge chairs. I was impressed with the attentiveness of the lifeguards...they were really keeping a close eye on things. I was glad we got to spend time at the pool because it was closed for the last 2 days of our vacation. It may have been due to what looked like a small convention.
We were refreshed and ready to head to Wide World of Sports now. We took a bus (first time) to MGM, then boarded another to WWoS. A dark cloud seemed to follow us there. As soon as we got off the bus it began to sprinkle. Soccer and softball players began leaving their fields. When it started to lightening we headed for the All-Star diner. We were seated immediately in a baseball mit shaped booth. We had a great server whose name escapes me at the moment. He was a real jokester and did good impersonations of Disney characters...sounded just like them!! We really liked this place, even better than ESPN club. The food was delicious and the sports atmoshere..very cool.
There was a full-fledged storm outside, and wouldn't you know..even though I had packed about 30 ponchos, this was the one time we didn't bring them with us, lol.
It didn't look like it was going to let up so we made a mad dash for the gift shop. Of course, we ended up buying mickey ponchos, lmao. The CM at the shop called transportation and told us a bus would be ariving shortly...and it did. We went to our room, changed clothes and headed for the Tower to shop.
We turned in our cards to recieve our free pins at one of the gift shops. This was the start of what was to become an obsession for some members of our family, lol. Let's just say that we left WDW with an average of 20 pins each!! I got pins here and there of all the attractions I had done. There was the new pin, with with the interactive mechanism, for 15.00. I thought about gettin it. I was surprised to see there were any left, I decided to wait til later to get it for some reason. Boy...big mistake! When I went back the next day, they were all gone, and none were to be found elsewhere! I knew I should have gotten it the first time I saw it, they had just put them out! Duh!!
Later that night my DD and I went out to the courtyard to watch the Electrical Light Pagent. I was thrilled to see a wonderful view of the MK fireworks from there....wonderful!! We had been hearing the music from the ELP, but this was our first chance to see it. It was delightful!! We really enjoyed it and the music is just too cute!
Off to bed now to rise early for EE MGM tomarrow.

One day I'll see that water parade. Seems like I'm always in the park when it happens.

That must have been a nice end to your day to see the water parade as well as the MK fireworks. :)

It was a nice ending. :)

And I forgot to mention that my daughter spotted puffs of smoke from the fireworks that formed a mickey head!

Wonderful report wishydoo!
