Cast:
DH - 37 - Hard worker, disney lover, easy to persuade
Me - 35 - Work too much, play too little, looks forward to WDW on a yearly basis to get away from the hustle and bustle
DD - 13 - Almost 14 -going into H.S. this year, needs to recapture some fond childhood memories at WDW
DS - 9 - Almost 10 - going into 5th grade, looks forward to eating his way through WDW and hanging out at the resorts
We decided to surprise DD and DS with a trip to WDW for their promotions into 9th and 5th grade and also because we had AP's which would expire on July 4th.
Keeping it quiet for over 60 days was really tough. We ended up breaking the happy news to them the night before our trip (June 19th) to give them extra time to pack. Their surprise is forever caught on video. DD was extremely excited & happy to be going back. DS was also excited, but he was upset at the same time. he felt that he didn't have enough time to prepare himself to fly. (He doesn't like flying too much)
We were glad that we did tell them the night before because it would of been too overwhelming the actual day of the trip.
As for DH and I, we found this secret very hard to keep. We never discussed it at all, couldn't plan anything from our house and that was the hardest part. I don't think we'd do any future surprise trips. It was way too stressful for us wondering how the kids reactions would be. Thankfully it all worked out.
Now on to Day 1
