The advice about keeping your eyes open is interesting. Does it really make something less scary? I always close my eyes on drops like on Tower of Terror and Splash Mountain and Jurassic Park. Maybe I shouldn't....
OP, Forbidden Journey isn't really a coaster but a car on a moving arm. It does give you that sense of a wild ride though and can induce a bit of queasiness in some people. But not everyone which makes this one a hard call.
Hi Planogirl

It's not really the motion of FJ I am scared of, more the story line/ lifesize props popping out at me in the dark!

The thought of those dementors and spiders really strikes fear in my brain!!!!
That's why I am pretty sure IF I do get brave enough to go on it, my eyes will be closed for most of it, I am sure!!
I'm a scaredy cat too. A few years ago I forced myself to do Hulk and DD. I enjoyed them! I just get myself too worked up before the ride but once I get going its fun. The only part that still freaks me out is the beginning of Hulk because you are shot up and it happens fast, but after taht its a great ride. Just go for it!! I still haven't gone and TOT...and don't think I ever will.
Cherbear....I'd like to give you some encouragement that if you ever get the chance to do TOT again, GO FOR IT!!!

It is very, very fun and I am sooooo crazy that I was so scared of it for so long! I missed out on a very fun ride my first trip due to my fear.
When I finally tried in last Sept, I absolutely LOVED it! Especially the "floating air time" you get on the drop/or rather "gravity pull-down" of the ride vehicle! It is fun, fun, fun.....and my stomach didn't drop at all like I was worried it might! My 14 yo son , on the other hand, really didn't like it much and he's told me I'm probably solo on it on our trip! He has a thing about drop rides making him feel funny and he doesn't like how his stomach feels on them! This coming from a kid who did MANTA at Sea World!!! He's brave when he has someone to share the experience with, so I would really love to surprise him and share a big roller coaster experience with him, as well as FJ!
Maybe I will have to just do what I did to go on RCnRC....Just jumped in the ride vehicle and pulled down the harness before I could change my mind!!!
I may go look at HULK on you tube and see if that helps me visualize what I could expect! Those loops look awfully high, and there's 7 OF THEM!!!!
I'll have to do some thinking on this one!
Thanks for all the replies so far, I am weighing them very, very carefully and appreciate you taking the time to post your experiences!
