Wishin' & Hopin', Planning & Dreamin': Oct 2013 PTR - 10/20 UPDATE: Link to TR!!

Wait....what did I miss? You're going back Feb '14 or '15??? My next plan is Feb 2015....

Page 18, Post 256

Not sure where you were...but yes, I have another trip planned. :rolleyes1

February 13-17, 2014. Thursday to Monday.

Girls weekend. Going with 3 other girlfriends! It's booked and official.

My next trip after that is planned for October 2015!!! YEP...3 trips worth of plans going on in my head! :faint:

It's too bad you won't be there in Feb 2014...we could totally have a DISmeet!

LOVE the (non)plans! I am a big planner as well and when I went with Rey alone we did this (per his request) and I LOVED it! It was so much more relaxed and we noticed a lot of little details I had missed while in commando-mode! ;)

The girls prepared their smashbooks yesterday, I'll post some pics on my PTR when I get a minute. They came out cute and I think they will work well for autograph books and journaling! Thanks for the idea! :thumbsup2

i LOVE the free style plans!! i honestly think you might enjoy a slow moving trip this time. Like ferris bueller says if you don't stop and smell the flowers once in a while you'll miss it.
this time you can take in the smells and sights a little more and will become a bit more memorable. :thumbsup2
so I LOVE YOUR PLANS!!! first day i love to just.... be... between travel and exhaustion from being SO excited to be there takes a lot out of you! so enjoy!!!

can't wait for day 2!

I remember reading your TR for you and Rey. It did sound absolutely AMAZING. I think we will still squeeze in many many rides (because we are kind of ride junkies) but we will take the time to just stroll and take it all in.

The girls Smashbooks turned out wonderful. So cute. I can't wait to see them all finished. :thumbsup2

Thanks Mo!!! Somehow, you always seem to know just how to make me relax when it comes to my plan stressing...maybe it's the way you wrangle those 3 munchkins...AND Stevie! :lmao: (Sorry...I couldn't resist)

You are right...even though there will be lots of excitement...there will also be exhaustion from travel. :faint: Knowing me it will be because of my "I'm too excited to sleep" syndrome! :rolleyes1

of course! Like i said in my PTR.. I love my Dis friends!!! Instead of "that darned Cat" i am going to make "that darn ferret" he deserves his own sitcom.

Just remember to Keep calm! RELAX! your first day you need to relax to gear up for your next day! :thumbsup2

one way to keep in the not run mode try to find some hidden mickey's! i expect tons of pictures!

I can't believe that I (we) are going to Disney in less than 30 days, less than a month....27 days to be exact! :cool1: I am pumped.

Time to share Day 2 Plans:

Monday, October 7

We will start our day with breakfast in the room...probably a bagel or something similar. We aren't really breakfast people, but need a little fuel to take on the day.

The majority of our day will be spent at EPCOT. We plan to arrive at EPCOT around 8:30am for a 9:00am park opening. Not sure of the best way to get there from BLT. Monorail to TTC and switch to the EPCOT monorail OR just take the bus over? What would you do? :confused3

Upon entering EPCOT I do have a LOOSE touring plan. It consists of Soarin' and Test Track first thing. We have any number of ways that we can achieve this, we'll just go with the flow that day. Other items on our list of things to do in Future World include Living With the land, Club Cool (convince Wayne to try Beverly :rolleyes1), and a few others. We only plan to stay in Future World until the World Showcase opens at 11:00am.

This picture was taken on my 2011 trip, so I guess I will need an updated picture showcasing the NEW Test Track sign. LOL

As soon as Future World opens we will begin our trek around the World, sampling lots of yummy eats and drinks at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. I am sure a few of these will be consumed:

Hopefully we balance the food and beverages well and I don't end up with beer goggles on...:lmao:

9-14-13 - ETA - We were just selected for FP+ testing. Here are the FP+ selections I made for our day at EPCOT. My thought was riding Soarin & Test Track standby upon arrival and the using the FP+ to get in a 2nd ride. The Mission Space FP+ will be used on our way out of the park if we feel like riding.

The general plan is to be finished in EPCOT no later than 2:00 or 3:00. Weather permitting, Wayne and I have an afternoon date with the pool at BLT. Wayne wanted me to be sure to build in some pool time, so I am trying my best to make it happen.

After we have had our share of sunning and swimming we'll head back to the room to freshen up for the evening. Dinner will be CS or a snack, but is up in the air. It all depends on how much we stuffed ourselves earlier in the afternoon at the Food & Wine Festival.

Plans for the evening include heading to the Magic Kingdom. Main Street Electrical Parade is happening at 8:00pm, followed by Wishes at 9:00pm. We will definitely be watching Wishes, but maybe/maybe not on MSEP. Magic Kingdom has EMH until 11:00pm this night. We probably won't stay until the end (only because wayne is a pary pooper :scared1:), but we will definitely give it some time after Wishes to let the crowds on Main Street clear.

So that's Day 2. What do you think? I'm really not much of an afternoon break kind of person, but I am hoping the pool time will be enough "rest" for Wayne that he will enjoy our evening time in Magic Kingdom!

I think it's marvelous that your trip is only 26 days away!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it!!!

Epcot sounds perfect - that is pretty much what we do too. Soarin' and TT are our must dos, after that - we are always open, and just wander.

Building pool time into the schedule is a good thing, we didn't get a lot of resort pool time this last trip - I am kind of bummed by that, because we enjoyed it so much the previous trip. I think most of it was due to the heat, we just wanted to veg after getitng to our room, and not go back out into that hotness - even if it was for the pool. LOL

Hopefully Wayne will be all rested up for your evening at MK. :)

OH - and I've never gone from any of the MK resorts to Ep, so I am not sure the best way to do that? I do think it's annoying that you have to exit the monorail station to get to other monorails - so down the ramp and back up again... Unless that is the only one you can transfer from on the same platform (it looked like there was one you could do this with?)... I am not the best monorail traveler - as you will soon see in my TR... So, I am probably NOT the one you should take advice from. LOL

D~

So far so GREAT!!! I am so glad your slowing down this trip!!! :yay:
pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Your going to love it. I def would take the Monorail. did you read Suzi's last post about it?!?! may make your decision easier? :rotfl2:

everything sounds MAGICAL!

I am SOOOO excited...so much so that I think Wayne is tired of hearing the word Disney! If I'm not careful, Disney will end up being a forbidden word in our house!

I am looking forward to our EPCOT time...and we will have some more time there later in the trip also. I kind of think I would like to ride Test Track at night...IDK...we shall see! :confused3

I do enjoy pool time, but sometimes I find it hard to pull myself away from the parks. In 2011, I built pool time into our schedule for our last day (prior to attending MNSSHP). It was in the mid 80's all week, until our last day the high was about 72 and very windy/breezy. Caden of course didn't mind, but the water was VERY chilly in the breeze. I hope for a nice balance of sunny and warm with low humidity. Is that too much to ask for? :lmao:

I have ridden the monorail many times, but only to EPCOT when I was about 8-9 years old. Don't really remember the logistics. Looks like monorail research is on my list of things to research.

So far so GREAT!!! I am so glad your slowing down this trip!!! :yay:

Thank you Mo! As I sit and type up my plans for you all to read and critique I am slowly realizing that I am fitting in all the things that I simply can't skip and still remaining flexible for Wayne and for things like breaks. This slowing down thing might not be so bad after all! :confused3

I did read Suzi's report last night...right after I typed my update here. I think I have definitely decided to take the monorail from BLT to EPCOT (with a transfer at TTC in between). ;) I am completely sold on seeing EPCOT and the ball from the monorail. I guess I should have my camera ready also.

IIRC, they also don't always have the bus from the Monorail Resorts to EPCOT either so it forces you to take the monorail.

Yep, if you are trying to "slow things down" this trip, then I would definitely take the monorail over to Epcot. It might be faster to take the bus, but it is a must do to glide over Future World on the monorail :cloud9:

How did I miss these day 2 plans?? :confused3

I think the plans look great. Very relaxing and laid back while still fitting in some really fun stuff. I  Soarin'- it is my favorite ride in all of WDW so it would make my list as well. :thumbsup2

I'm not really big on afternoon breaks either but since my mom has a back injury I forced myself to plan breaks for her. Hopefully it will work out well for both of us. :goodvibes

I don't know if i can handle another one of my dis friends NOT taking a camera... :faint:

Good i am so happy your seeing the good on the CHILLING! :cool1:

I don't know what happened......I KNOW I was subscribed to this thread and I just realized that it was no longer in my quick links, so I got on it and realized that I have missed about 2 1/2 months!!!! WHAT????? (And you were one of the first people that got me hooked on these PTR and TRs)Aaaaand your trip is within the month :thumbsup2

So, anyhow, I am all caught up now.(and re-subscribed)....can't believe I missed the F&W pics and the news of the girls trip YAY!!!!!!! I am so excited for you!

I can't wait to hear all about F & W, we are doing it next year

So glad school is going well, it's nice when the kiddos enjoy it!

Anywho, thanks for listening to my rant......

Well that's good to know. I particularly HATE the buses, but will ride them if I have to. I'm not sure what it is. I have never really had a bad experience, I just prefer not to ride the buses.

:thumbsup2 You got it! I have totally decided on the monorail as our means of transport to EPCOT...mostly thianks to YOU!

Finally...someone like me that dislikes afternoon breaks. I am like that with regular amusement parks too...I want to be there from open til close. Why don't others share my school of thought? :confused3

I think this go round the afternoon breaks will be okay...especially since some of that time will be used as a means to park hop! ;)

I don't know if i can handle another one of my dis friends NOT taking a camera... :faint:

NOT take a camera?!? Who would do such a thing?!? Surely you don't mean ME! Oh...what's that you said? That friend Suzi of ours didn't take her camera! :scared1::faint: Has she lost her mind? :rotfl2: Thankfully she thought ahead enough to take along someone with a camera (who took beautiful shots I might add). :stir:

I am coming to terms with my "Chilling" touring. You'll have to wait until my return to see if I stick with it and if I could handle it. popcorn::

I wondered what happened to you! I thought maybe you had just decided to be a stalker... I do that sometimes...and then I realize that it's been a while since I commented and these people probably think I deserted their PTR/TR! :faint:

So glad to have you back and even more glad that you are all caught up!!! ::yes:: I absolutely LOVE F&WF & I'm even more excited that we will be able to enjoy it without a kiddo in tow. I love Caden to pieces, but this will definitely be a different kind of trip with even more magical memories made.

I can't believe how close my trip is. I was just talking to a friend at work and I realized it's in 3.5 weeks! :scared1: That seems so short....and CLOSE!!!

Just beware of that Monorail... It doesn't always move... Sigh... HOpefully your luck is better than mine.

I had the same problem with my Disney excitement - and I think that is part of the reason my DH doesn't like Disney. :( Which makes me feel horrible... But I let him talk about "his" stuff all the time. OH well... Sigh... Maybe some day...

3.5 weeks!!!!!!! ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe how fast it's coming!!!!!!!!! WHOOT!!!!!!!!!!

D~

Wishing and hoping for lots of Pixiedust pixiedust: where the monorail is concerned!

I let wayne talk about his STUFF too...I even ask questions to show interest. :thumbsup2 I think deep down...Wayne is a closet Disney lover like myself...he is just scraed to show it! After all...he totally tried to get a spot on my girls trip next February! :lmao:

:dance3: :banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2::jumping1:
Can you sense my excitement? 24 days!!! It will be here in no time!

Hmmm...I wonder if that will be the next rollout for My Magic+...TELEPORTING DIRECTLY TO DISNEY!!! :rolleyes1

Just making a quick drive by... :drive:

I am at work and I don't have time for a proper update...nor do I have the rest of the pictures I need for said update loaded to my Photobucket account yet. I know, I know...slacking!!!

BUT...for all you non-weekend DISers...I just want you to know that you WILL miss a fun and exciting update this weekend! My plan is to make this fun update this afternoon when I get home form work (before dinner time). If the afternoon/early evening gets hectic then it will have to wait until tomorrow. :confused3 Either way...you'll be left in the dark until Monday unless you find time to drive by! :lmao::drive:

Sorry to be such a tease....but, well....I am a tease! :rotfl2:

Can't wait to read it! Sometimes it takes a while for me to get up the energy go deal with photobucket too.
