Wishin' & Hopin', Planning & Dreamin': Oct 2013 PTR - 10/20 UPDATE: Link to TR!!

Surfing from my phone... Just wanted to say hi.... Sorry i cant quote... I saw your photos before I left, they were awesome, I loved the fire engine! Can't see the fountain ones on my phone tho...

U will do awesome.with the portraits, I just know it. I've found, when alli takes my picture, the best ones are when we are goofing off and laughing... So get some belly laughs out of them :) personally, I love candids too.

Miss u all.... For those of u that just started new ptrs.... I will seek them out when I get home.

D~

I'm probably one of few people who actually do know what the fleur-de-lis is! :lmao: Your Painting is beautiful!!!! Didn't know you you painted! this is amazing!!!!!

LOL...the teacher in me explains things like they are for a 5YO sometimes. I thought you probably knew what a Fleur De Lis was, but I tend to have an obsession with them and since it's part of Louisville I wasn't sure if you (or anyone) would get what it is I like so much. :confused3

So...I don't actually paint (or draw or have ANY artistic talent). I did this canvas at a place called Uptown Art Uncorked. Each night they offer a different painting. You sign up for the one you want: snacks, canvas, paint and supplie and group instruction are all included in the price. Then...the BEST part... they have wine for sale. So...my BFF and I went one night, shared 2 bottles of Moscato and painted Fleur-De-Lis. I am SUPER happy with how it turned out.

I have been to the same place one other time. Wayne and I went for my birthday last year. Of course...we painted the same picture. They turned out pretty good and we have them hanging in our kitchen.

MINE:

Wayne's:

I was thinking your picture was this:
I see a spider...

YES...I see a spider there too. Where is that exactly? :confused3

Yum.. we did it in 2011!!!!! Agreed lots of food. we found the drinks.. :drinking1 I still remember the soup.. and some chocolate thing. other then that.. Nope. I remember the drinks. :lmao:

LOL... I am so excited to be able to do this ADULTS ONLY!

:rotfl::lmao: Oh D~...I think perhaps you meant to post this reply on Mo's PTR. :confused3 It's totally ok though. It just shows that you are having a good time at the lake and are more focused on your trip than on the DID...and that's cool.

Hope you are having a great time with your family! BTW...this is something I would totally do...post on the wrong PTR.

BAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA. glad i read it!!!

The spider thing is at the Epcot international gateway.

So then I had to come see what I wrote.... Hopefully this posts in the right spot today. Lol

Those canvases are really cool, I love how you have them displayed next to eachother, for two different perspectives of the same item.

On my phone, they showed up with in Mos quote, so I am not sure if they are Mos or yours? And the spider thing didn't show up at all for me???

Anyways... Just stopping by to say hi... Lol

I have never actually come in (or gone out) the International gateway. Guess I will add that to the Disney bucket list. :thumbsup2

:cheer2: Woohooo....the post is in the right spot. LOL

I quoted Mo and replied WITHIN her quote...just in a different color. So...those are my pics of the canvases...but the spider pic is Mo's. Are you confused yet? :confused3 No wonder you can't post on the right report! :upsidedow

Sorry it's been so long since I've properly updated my PTR! :rolleyes1 On the agenda for today is MUST Do's for Hollywood Studios.

Here's the list of non-negotiable must do's and the "If we have time" list.
MUST DO
Toy Story Mania
Tower of Terror
Rock N' Roller Coaster
Star Tours
Studio Backlot Tour *
Walt Disney: One Man's Dream **
Magic of Disney Animation **

"If we have time..."
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular **
Great Movie Ride
Beauty & the Beast LIVE On Stage **
Mulch, Sweat & Shears Show
Meet Monsters, Inc. Characters **

* - Wayne has never ridden
** - Neither Wayne nor I have ridden (or I was too little to remember)

I am pleased with our Hollywood Studios list. I think we can definitely accomplish everything we want. You will notice that several of the items on the list are new for both Wayne and I. I am SUPER excited about the Animation drawing class. I plan to frame our finished products!

When we were at HS in 2011 we were able to ride Tower of Terror and Rock N' Roller Coaster while my grandparents took Caden to the Little Mermaid Show. Hopefully this time around we can get in MULTIPLE rides on both! We'll see what happens! I would also like to do at least 2 rides on Toy Story Mania...so please share your Toy Story strategies with me.

I will leave you with a few pics from our 2011 trip in Hollywood Studios... including Jedi Training Academy pics of Caden.

We LOVED the animation class! :thumbsup2

TSM we usually hit rope drop, go straight to standby and THEN grab a FP when we get off. BUT...this is only if you plan to stay at the park all day b/c your return time will be for the afternoon. If you don't, then grab a FP first, THEN get in the standby line and ride!

So brave...the ONLY ride I won't do at WDW is ToT. I HATE drops, Splash Mtn is worse for me than EE! I just know I wouldn't like it b/c of that, so I have decided it's not the end of the world.

Ya'll are so stinking cute! LOL!!!!

We have never seen One Man's Dream or done the Animation class either. I think it is because our kids were younger and we may not have thought they would enjoy them. :confused3 HS is the one park where we have SO MUCH we want to do, one day is never enough. :faint:

I LOVE the pictures!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

I am hoping to get the kids to do the Jedi thing next year! I know they will love it!!!

HS is my 2nd favorite park. everything about it is fantastic! Including the great movie ride!
the street performers are out of this world!
the stunt show is pretty cool.. I think they are closing that down??? :confused3
I hope not it is really interesting.

Are you posting your ADR's?!?
No fantasmic?

I'm really excited about the animation class...I just hope it's not a crappy character. :stir:

OK...TSM...when you say the FP will be for afternoon if we ride and THEN get a FP...afternoon as in 1 or 2 or afternoon as in 4 or 5? Anything after 2 or 3 at the latest probably wouldn't work, but as long as the return time is before that I think I would rather ride first thing and then again right before we head out of the park. We won't be staying all day and plan to take an afternoon break before hopping to a different park in the evening!

Thrill rides....LOVE THEM!!! Anything with a drop, flips me upside down, launches me at 60 mph...it doesn't matter. Now...if you put me on something that goes in circles I get queasy! For some reason I can handle Mission Space Orange...but the carousel, tea cups, Dumbo...NOPE!

Caden is EXACTLY the reason we haven't done those either. I already felt bad running off to ride Rock N Roller Coaster and Tower of terror while my grandparents took Caden to Little Mermaid Show, so I didn't want to do anything else without my little guy...and I too thought he was too young and wouldn't enjoy those.

I LOVE the pictures!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

The Jedi training is SO MUCH FUN! Caden had a blast and still talks about it. I hope the munchkins decide to do it!

I really do love HS...I still remember my first visit there in 1992 when it was MGM. I thought the Backlot Tour was the coolest thing ever...and I got to met the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I thought that was awesome....and I was 13!! Great Movie Ride is just okay in my book...I just think it needs some updating. AND...I have only ever had the Gangster scene! :confused3

I will post my ADR's again. I thought I already did? Or perhaps I forgot? Or you forgot? :rotfl2: I only have 3 so it isn't much of a list.

We are skipping Fantasmic this time. We did it in 2011 and while I do love it we want to do some park hopping and other evening activities so I just didn't want to work around the Fantasmic schedule. :faint:

Time for more plans!!!! :cool1: If you've been following along, you will know that I have listed our must do's for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. What's next....Animal Kingdom you say??? NOPE!!! I'm not sure if I have broken the news yet or not, but we are NOT doing Animal Kingdom this trip! :sad2: Animal Kingdom is Wayne and I's least favorite park! :scared1: I know...some of you are probably screaming at your computer right now! There are some things that I will miss...specifically Expedition Everest!

We do have park hoppers, so I am not against hopping over to AK to squeeze in a ride on Everest! :rolleyes1 I haven't mentioned this to Wayne or he might look at me like I am crazy! It is not in the schedule, but if we get a wild hair...you just never know. The only thing that complicates this a bit is the fact that AK closes at 5pm every night of our trip and there is NO WAY I will give up one of our rope drop mornings to hit AK.

OK...since I don't have any AK plans to share I guess I should share something else. How about I give you a quick rundown of the shops I would like to visit when we go to Downtown Disney:

World of Disney

LEGO Store (to get something for Caden)

Once Upon A Toy

D-Street
Candy Cauldron

Christmas Shop

Goofy's Candy Company
Mickey's Pantry
Team Mickey Athletic Club

Something else that Wayne and I might do if we get a chance is check out the Characters in Flight. I think this looks so cool and would be a great way to see Disney from a different perspective. Has anyone ever done this? What did you think? Was it worth the money? Would you do it again? Please help.

OK...so I know this post wasn't very exciting. Now that I have wrapped up all our must do's in each park I will start doing some daily plans and also our Food & Wine Festival plans. I have lots of yummy food porn pics from F&WF in 2011. I hope you will keep reading and commenting! :wave2:

I would be perfectly happy to skip AK as well. DD's fave ride is Kali though so she'd never go for it.

We spent so little time at DTD that I haven't been to a lot of those. Looks like a fun day of exploring. :goodvibes

animal Kingdom is my least favorite as well, but i can't skip it. It's still part of Disney with some cool stuff!

I have never done the characters in flight, love to hear how you liked it!!! :lmao:

I have done Kali once...and while I do love it on a SUPER HOT day...I'm not a huge fan of walking around sopping wet with squishy feet all day.

It's a little ironic...I'm not much of a shopper...a little stingy with my money...but I love taking the time to just explore and window shop. DTD is one of my favorite places!

When I first made our plans I didn't think twice about skipping AK and Wayne was totally on the same page with me. Now that it's getting closer I am thinking that I would love to sneak over for a quick ride on Everest! :confused3

Characters in Flight will be new for us as well...IF we decide to do it. Still UP IN THE AIR (pun intended). :lmao:

So...I have some super exciting news to share!!!

:yay:

What do you think it could be??/

:confused3

Think hard! What would I be SOOOOOO excited about?

No guesses?

Awwww....come on...you really aren't trying that hard! :rolleyes1

Need a hint? Okay...Valentine's Day!

What's that, you think it's something related to romance?

Did Wayne propose?!?

:confused3

:rolleyes1

That's so strange...I could swear I sent you an evite for the trip! :rolleyes1popcorn:: Actually...a girls trip with DIS friends would be so much fun too. ::yes:: I guess I better get back to the drawing board and planning that trip too! :surfweb:

The trip has been in the works for a while...and I've been dying to mention it here, but I was afraid I would jinx it. It took a while to sort out all the details, but it's official and there is no turning back now! I'm not really a big Valentine's Day person...I ant someone to show me they love me the other 364 days of the year! Wayne totally didn't care that I would be gone on Valentine's day!

I agree!!!!
I am NOT a Valentines day person.. I only do things for the kids. But otherwise we really don't "celebrate" the day..

I am SO happy for you and getting another trip together!!!

How many of you are going?!?!
