Wishes VR with a small guest list?

Hi all,
I am in the very early stages of planning our Dec 2010 VR. I was originally planning on doing the escape package, but since our orig. wedding was in Las Vegas we did not have a reception and I have always regretted that so I really want my VR to have a reception. So, I thought a wishes VR would be a better idea for us. I am not worried about the $10,000 min. But when I was browsing around the website it seams that our guest list will be too small for almost all of the reception locations. Right now I am looking at 20 to 30 guests, but it will most likely be closer to the 20 side. Can DFTW work with us on this? I wanted to do a DP on the French Island and that looks to be okay but from what I see we would have to have our reception there also since all the other locations I looked at required a lot more guests.
Am I being silly for considering a Wishes VR with only about 20 guests? Is there anyone out there who did do one with a guest list comparable to mine? How did it work out for you?

Thanks a bunches.

Not silly - if you can afford it, you should do whatever kind of VR you want. I've seen Wishes weddings with only 5 people!

If you only have 20 people, they will probably make you have your dessert party at the lower UK terrace. It's a lovely place though!

Alternatively, you might consider the Attic for your reception. It is very cozy - seats a max of 50, but our group of 34 felt just right in the space, and I know you could do fewer and still feel like you were all hanging out at someone's house. If you click on my trippie in my signature and look at our reception pictures, you'll get an idea of the decor and the feel. Plus, since it's so close to Epcot, you'd be in the neighborhood already for your dessert party.

There are many locations that Disney doesn't publish, so don't worry if nothing in the standard info catches your eye. :thumbsup2

welcome to another VRer. I look forward to reading your plans. as for planning a wishes or escape it comes down to what you and dh want and can afford.:goodvibes

I'm having a wishes wedding and only have 12 people and Disney have been able to accommodate us so I don't think you will have any problems :)

I'm having a wishes wedding with 18 guests so i think they will accomadate, we have to pay for an extra 2 at uk lower for our dessert party as the min is 20 people but thats the only think we have, oh and paying for a 47 seater bus for 18 of us!

I haven't been told that I have to pay for the missing people at my DP. But I do have to pay a small group fee so maybe that is it. Also I have been told there is a smaller form of transport to get to the DP which I am being quoted on. I will let you know more when I get my BEO.

oh i think ours will be like $40 as its just the food min for uk so i'm not that worreid, i'll have to ask about the smaller bus, i thought about 3 limos but thats alot of money

I did a Wishes wedding with 27 guests. When we first started planning it was that same range of 20-30, and we had the same problem as to where to have it. We ended up in the American Adventure Parlor for the reception (dinner only), and UK lower for the DP. The AAP was perfect size for our small group, but it wouldn't have been if we had dancing. For the DP, we were told the we could possibly do the French lower, but had to guarantee 25 people.

Thank you all for your replies.

lurkyloo I checked out your TR and your set up is just like what I was planning on doing. An early EPCOT VR with a brunch reception and than a DP in the evening.

padisneyfour Doesn't 2010 seam so far away?

B2B-2008 & orangetiggs I am glad to hear you are not having much trouble. That makes me feel a lot better. I don't mind if my options are limited as long as I have options and we can make it nice.

PrincessBride07 I would rather have French lower but I thought it required a lot more people. I didn't even consider UK lower. If it was between French upper and UK lower I will diffinitely do UK lower since it is more secluded.

Wow I can't wait until I can start planning it all out more. :goodvibes
