I'm having a dilemma! We had planned an Escpae wedding as we are only having about 10 guests and wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible. However the price keeps creeping up as I add things and I'm now wondering if a Wishes wedding would be better. So I need your help to decide.

We are having the Wedding Pavillion, Cinderella's Coach, Lunch/Dinner reception at the GF and a dessert party at Sago Cay Point.

For an Escape wedding thats $5500 + $2700 + $1625 (inc tax & service but no drinks) + $687.50 (inc tax & service but no music) = $10512.50

When is your wedding? In 2009 with the 10K minimum or in 2010 when its 12K? Keep in mind that the escape package has the taxes & fees included the Wishes you would have to add to it.

1. when is your wedding? 10K min or 12k? Now add the taxes and fees to the minimim
2. Are you using any outside vendors for photos or video?
3. Would you be willing to pay a little more to customize more?
4. Are you planning to do the MK shoot? Thats another 1K towards a Wishes?
5. Are you planning to use teh Pavillion?

For us it ended up saving a few thousand dollars to go Escape beacuse of taxes and outside vendors. If it was REALLY close, we would have gone up to Wishes. In my opinion the extra 2K would be better spent on our honeymoon.

If you are getting married in 2009, it looks like you might be better off doing Wishes if you arent using outside vendors.

Call your planner and have them price out a Wishes event for you, I think you might be able to add in a few extras for pretty close to what your already spending! For Wishes them itemize out your site fee, musician, flowers, photos, dinner, dessert party etc etc.

It sounds like the only thing that would have the taxes included in it would be the wedding pavillion, cake and champage.

Truthfully I would just add everything up with taxes and see what the totals are and go with whichever is less.

Also keep in mind for the wishes weddings there are the room night minimums. If all of your guests are planning to stay for a while it might not be a problem.

Already have enough room nights booked so that's not a problem.

I went through the same dilemma. Call DFTW and explain the situation. That's what I did and Heidi there did a mock BEO for me to get a better idea of what the costs associated with a Wishes would be if I were to switch. It will help :thumbsup2
