Wishes from TOTW lounge

What is the experience like? Is it better to watch in person at the park (done that) or better to watch from here? Should we do both? Does it fill to capacity? Do you need a reservation? Should we arrive early--how early?

The TOTWL doesn't take reservations. Starting at 5pm you go to the check-in desk on the first floor of BLT. You need to show them your KTTW card with 'DVC MEMBER' printed on it and they will escort you to an elevator that will take you up to the 16th floor. When we were there in Nov for my birthday, we only watched Wishes from there. It was never anywhere close to capacity during that trip.

We watched Wishes from the lounge on Wednesday Jan. 6, that was just before Marathon weekend, and it was very crowded. It was very cold and not pleasant to be outside watching it. Some of us stayed inside and I thought that was better!

Two nights later 2 of our group went up again and the clouds were such that you could hear the fireworks but they exploded in the clouds and they couldn't see anything at all.

For us, the next night, Saturday was the best, we did the Pirates and Pals Wishes cruise from the CR. Sure it was cold, but the view was excellent.

We just had bad luck with the viewing from the lounge, I'm sure. We've seen it from the Cali Grill and think that view is fantastic.

Probably because it was Marathon weekend, the lounge was well used that weekend.

We saw wishes from the TOWL, and everything is "off center". We have previously watched from inside the park from the bridge over by Splash mountain (We had heard that is a good location) and it is the same "off center" effect. We have also watched from the Tomorrowland terrace, which is slightly less, but still "off center"

The night after watching from the TOWL we watched from Main Street, (which we had not done for several years) and all the effects are centered behind and in front of the castle. I think wishes is at least three times better from the "straight on view" from Main Street. JMO

If you have already done the main street view, seeing wishes again from the TOWL or your room or the elevator area at BLT is fine, but I really think you need to see it from Main street at least once every trip. Again JMO.
