Has anyone watched Wishes fireworks from the Polynesian? Is it a better view than from inside the park? I booked a lagoon view at the Polynesian planning on watching the fireworks from the room, but now I'm wondering if it may be better to watch them from inside the park.

Thanks! ;)

I assume you're staying more than one night? Try both and let us know which is better. I'll trust your observation over most other people posting.:D

Lewisc has a great point about your judgement, California Dreaming. I think we'd all love to hear your opinion.

We had a lagoon view at the Polynesian for five nights a couple of weeks ago. The view of WISHES from there is incredible. Always enjoyed the fireworks from the Polynesian but this is so much better. We didn't watch them from the MK so I can't compare that. If you have only one night though at the Polynesian, I would watch from your room. You can always catch WISHES from the MK some night when you're not at the Polynesian. We enjoyed it so much my DH wanted to reschedule our 7:30 R&C PS so we wouldn't miss 7:00 WISHES.

I will say we couldn't hear the narration or music from our room although we could from near the pool. That may have corrected that by the time you're there.

We'll be at the Polynesian for 2 nights before heading over to VWL, but the first night we won't be arriving until 7:30 or 8, and Wishes is at 7. I guess the second night we'll plan on being in the room for the fireworks, then one of the nights we'll be at VWL I'll make sure we're in the park to watch Wishes (guess that will be our SpectroMagic night, too). Or, if Wishes is at 9PM, can we make it from the Polynesian into the park for the 10PM SpectroMagic (the park will close at 10)?

Also, do you have any idea what time the EWP passes the Polynesian? It seems I remember it being around 9PM - any idea?

Thanks, and I'll be sure to report my observations (and, maybe some photos) when I return. ;)

The Electrical Water Pageant is always at 9:00 UNLESS the fireworks are at 9:00 in which case the EWP begins right after the fireworks end.

If the WISHES is at 9, you should have no problem making it over to MK before 10...although I don't know about crowds once you're actually there! If you watch WISHES, then the EWP and then try to make Spectromagic, it might be tight.....but you could always watch the EWP the first night.

Don't forget about taking the little launch from the Polynesian to MK....although I'm sure you won't. A neat part of staying in Hawaii is watching for it to arrive at the GF and knowing you can walk right out to the dock and catch it as it arrives at the Polynesian.

I've seen Wishes from inside MK and from the Poly beach. It really can't compare as the MK view was awesome. That being said, the view of Wishes from the beach was great. Wishes is much better from the beach then FITS ever was. With Wishes you can even see Tinkerbell, in bright blue and green lights, flying down, from the beach. We actually watched it twice from MK and twice from MK. All were very enjoyable!

We watched Wishes last week from the Poly beach and from the Plaza Restaurant inside the MK. While we had a spectacular view from the Poly beach (we could even see Tink flying from the castle), we missed the music and the other audio theming to the show.

The answer to your question CaliforniaDreaming is "no". The view and the entire experience is superior from inside the MK.

I agree with skiwee1 in that Wishes is better than Fantasy.

OK, so where in the park is the best place to watch them from?? Is there one place better than another??

We like the Plaza Restaurant because Tink flies right over your head and there are no trees to obstruct the view. If you get there early enough you can even sit at a table!

We're planning on Ohana then watches wishes from Poly beach in Feb. What time should we try for PS for Ohana? How is wishes from the observation deck at Contemporary? Chef Mickeys is also an option.

I thought the music for wishes was piped in at the Poly beach? I believe I remember reading that on the boards?
Has anyone heard the audio for wishes while watching from the Poly?:)

No the music is not piped in at the Poly beach. I saw Wishes twice from the Poly and the only thing you hear are the actual fireworks and perhaps a little mumbling but that is it. When I was at the Poly during FITS for the last couple years there was nothing piped in either.

We could not hear WISHES from our lanai in Hawaii but one night my son and I were at the beach by the pool and I could hear it there although not very well as there was a group partying rather loudly. It was certainly piped in though.

Perhaps the volume is kept low so too many people who aren't guests there don't try to hang out at the Polynesian just to see WISHES.

You can barely hear the mumbling of the speaker but that is it. I even asked a CM if the music was going to be piped in with Wishes and was told no that they have never fixed the problem with it. That was this October so unless it has been fixed it is not piped in. We sit with our chairs in just about in the water so you can't get any closer then that! LOL!

Well, we were there in November and maybe the problem wasn't just the group partying!:o

The night my son and I were by the pool, I could hear it coming from a speaker near the bar. It truly was coming out of the speaker but I couldn't hear it well above the other noises.

From our patio in Hawaii, I heard nada and another lady told me she was hearing those Hawaiian Christmas carols playing softly through the speakers along the beach.

how is it viewing from a tower room balcony (MK view) at the Contemporary?
