First post - I've been lurking on the boards for weeks soaking up all the great info here but have a question I couldn't find the answer to.

My wife and I are taking DD(5) to WDW December 5-12. I haven't been since 1998, DW and DD have never been. We have tickets for MVMCP for Dec 6 and were able to book a reservation for the Wishes Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party. I've seen good and bad posts about other dessert parties held throughout WDW. Has anyone attended this one before? Does it legitimately guarantee a good spot for the Christmas parade and fireworks? Was it worth the extra cost - $205?

Thank you!

In my opinion, it was fun to do once but don't think I would pay for it a second time. When we attended, the price was fairly reasonable. It has gone up since then. We were able to see the fireworks very well, but we were in front. I don't know what the view was like behind us.

Imo I don't think any of the dessert parties are worth it. The only one I thought that was worth it was the dessert party for the Star Wars fireworks when they first started during Star Wars weekend because for a good spot for the stage show and fireworks people were grabbing spots 2+ hours ahead of time. We wanted a good spot so we sat on the ground and waited about 1.5 hours. That's when I saw the tables to the left and thought it was worth spending that money to get a reserved area and not have to wait that long for a good spot.

But now that Star Wars weekends are gone, I don't think any dessert party is worth it. You can get good spots without waiting a long time and the food items are extremely overpriced. However if you have the extra money to blow and want to do a dessert party, then by all means do it. If that's the case, I recommend the Star Wars dessert party over Wishes

This is the 1st year for the Wishes Holiday Dessert Party, so no reviews until after 1st party. The HalloWishes Dessert Premium Package Party offers the same special viewings, this will be the 2nd year for it. PP either love it or hate it, mostly do to pricing & that on top of party ticket. Others do not like fireworks viewing, off to right not center - to each their own. We're doing it this year for MNSSHP, good view of Tinkbell & still see fireworks & don't have to stake out place early. Same for parade, did MVMCP in 2014, in spot 1hr prior to start time, by time parade came & PP started crowding in, view not so hot. Probably should have watched from Frontierland, but wanted to he on Main St & was getting a bite to eat @ Casey's.

Anyone who has been to Wishes Holiday Dessert party care to review it? We are going to WDW for the second time (DH first time) and I have it booked but would like to hear more about it. Anyone???

Wow $79 per adult plus tax and gratuity! We went @4 years ago on my DD birthday, it was @$50pp then ; one of mine was 9 turning 10 so she was still a Disney child. We ate small for dinner;this was well worth it as a celebratory dinner type situation, great views of fireworks(without having to line up for an hour) and photopass photographer with great castle shots and delicious and plentiful desserts. I told everyone I know how AMAZING it was. That being said, NO WAY in heck I'd be paying almost $400 for my family to do it now!!!!!

I'm also waiting for someone who's been this year to review it. Have it booked for 12/16 MVMCP but on the fence about keeping it. I've also been stalking the "official MVMCP page but no reviews yet!
