Just wondering, if you were only at WDW for one day and could only see one of these shows which would it be. For me it is Fantasmic! I love the music as well as the use of the characters. The water stuff is great too. How about you?
This is a hard one, but I voted for WISHES. While my family and I love Fantasmic, you just can't beat WISHES. It was awesome! I have the CD and listen to it all the time! I can't wait to see it again in December!
I like Illuminations and Fantasmic, but I love Wishes, so it got my vote. In my opinion, the globe in Illuminations and the water screens in Fantasmic just go on tooooo long.
After seeing Fantasmic at DLR, the one at WDW just doesn't stack up. IllumiNations however, brings tears to my eyes. I love it. I haven't seen wishes in person yet, but I did view the whole video and I still think IllumiNations wins.
We love fireworks in general so enjoy them all. For the most part we (dh and I) could give or take Fantasmic. Love Wishes but we would watch Illuminations every night we are there if we could. Dont know what it is about it, but we love it. My dh has the music downloaded and just listening to it can get us excited about our upcoming trip.
The old illuminations would get my vote. I am afraid I dont like the new one as much as the old one so I have to vote for fantasmic which is still an awesome show.
wishes and illuminations were kind of a toss up but i think illuminations is a little longer( unless my feet just hurt more from walking around epcot so it seems longer ) so i voted for that one...course with wishes you get spectro sometimes so hmmmm, it's a tie
Tough question! It would definitely be between Wishes and Illuminations for me. Wishes is more whimsical and magical and the fireworks themselves are just amazing. Illuminations always gives me chills though because it's so moving - I love the music and the inspiring feeling of the whole show. I guess I like them both equally, but for different reasons!
I vote Wishes. But we're biased and haven't seen one recently or the other at all.
We saw Wishes the first time it was displayed after the press night last October (first general public display). We also saw the last of the previous display on the last late night before press night. Kinda cool to see both in the same week. Also got to see the MNSSHP display in between the two.
I have not seen Illuminations since our honeymoon, October 1993, so I can't compare. Last year, DS got too tired before it began and we needed to leave the park. This year he'll make it.
We have never been at MGM at closing, so I have never experienced Fantasmic. We won't make it this October either. Only 4 days (3 nights) in the parks. Those nights will be at EPCOT, MK, MK (for MNSSHP). Hopefully next extended trip.
