I have been stalking MDE for the Wishes Dessert Party for my upcoming trip, but have had no luck. One of my dates is November 20, which would be during the MVMCP, which I have tickets for. Is it worth it on a party night? I want to see the Christmas parade and have heard that the Terrace is a horrible place to see it from. Do I remember reading that there is a later parade after Wishes? Whenever I see an opening for the dessert party, I will have to pull the trigger quickly, but would hate to miss the parade. TIA

My DH and I did this a couple of years ago. There is definitely a second parade that you would want to go to. There was a new thread posted yesterday with a peak at the MVMCP map/schedule. The 2nd parade is at 10:30. The question about whether you should do the Dessert Party on a MVMCP night is a big debate but only you can decide. If you want to see a lot of characters, then you probably don't want to do the dessert party. I'm sure you'll be getting many opinions here. Good luck finding a ressie if you decide you want to do it!

If you want to do this, there's a person on the New guidelines-November Cancelled ADRs thread who has a Nov. 20 Dessert Party to cancel for 3. You might be able to coordinate with her. I don't know how many you have, but if it's just two, there's a possibility of booking for 3 if you book an infant (no charge--and just show up with 2) or there might be room for 4 if the table is big enough (many ressies for 3 could also be made for 4 based on table size). Hope this helps!

We did this last year & saw the later parade.
It is a great place to see the fireworks without any crowd.
However, I doubt I'd do it again on the party night as it does take lots of time. The check in process last year was snail like slow! I'd rather watch the parade twice like we have done before at the MVMCP . I love the parade.
We only wait in a very few character lines so the dessert party didn't really affect us there.
We have done the dessert party before in a regular park day & I enjoyed that time more.

How early do you have to be there to check in?
Disney's site says the party starts one hour before the fireworks. I haven't been to the party in two years, but I seem to remember people lining up quite early for it. I wouldn't waste much time standing in line to check in though. Just plan to be there an hour before the fireworks. Seats are reserved with a little card that has your name on it, and I think they'll have plenty of desserts for you if you are there an hour before the fireworks.
