What factors into your decision on which night of your trip to do the dessert party?

Specific celebration, last night of your trip, sometime in the middle, or has anyone risked scheduling it for your arrival day?

And do you or do you not have dinner when you book a dessert party?

TIA :goodvibes

We are booked for our arrival night. We drive in around mid day, so there's little to no risk to us missing it. It'll be a great way for us to kick off our trip...just so happens to be a Sunday with EMH as well...so we won't have to feel rushed to get out of the park afterwards. Even though we will surely rush out after fireworks because of our morning meal ressies the next morning. :)

Thanks for all these replies :goodvibes great suggestion for EMH night since those nights will surely be more crowded in summer.

I looked on pg 1 but didn't see, sorry if this a repeat question but is dessert party a 48 hrs cancelation policy like the dinner shows, etc? Thanks :upsidedow

I've decided to cancel our July 4th reservation. Offered it to others who had posted on this thread about missing out on that date, but they either had other plans, or never responded.
S0 - if you're interested, maybe we can do a 3 way phone call to the reservation dept or something. (I don't know how that's done, but I have seen others say they've done it in order to coordinate cancelling/booking.)
We were able to book on another night - and to tell you the truth, I've thought better about being in such a large crowd with the grandchildren and possibly having to try and leave for 1 reason or another during or right after the fireworks.
I hope this will be helpful to someone. I've received so many kindnesses from fellow Dissers, that maybe I can spread a little pixie dust....

I believe we were told (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) it's a 24 hour cancellation. :goodvibes

Thanks for your reply - I know I can always find out when I book but it's nice to know in advance :goodvibes This is something we have not had the pleasure to experience so I'm really looking forward to it :upsidedow

Well, we are not getting park hoppers and plan to spend all day at the same park from rope drop until the cleaners kick us out (we get a bit of a break while it rains in the afternoon). We just look at the crowd calendar and go to the park that they suggest will have the smallest crowds.

We don't plan to have a big dinner the day we go to the Party maybe something small around five.

YES!! Wait until after the second MSEP. We have been on July 3, and it will be a NIGHTMARE to try to get out of there after Wishes :scared: I would estimate it will take you at least an hour just to get from the Terrace to the front of the park. When we were there they actually had to start Spectro 45 minutes (or more) late due to the hoardes of people still trying to leave the park at 11 when it was supposed to start :faint:

Great! Thank you :D We aren't in any hurry to get out, we know it's going to be a long day and night ..so we figured we might as well leave when it's the LEAST crowded, lol.

I like to book it on a night that has EMH. I'm trying for 8-12 which has EMH til 1am. We eat an early dinner and then totally fill up on desserts at around 9:30! It is so much fun and the desserts are really delicious!! MK is our favorite park and it's just my DD and me (DH not a Disney fan:confused3(something wrong w/him!)). It is really a special event for us!pixiedust:

Come on August. I check everyday, multiple times a day. Just release the month already! It's the last thing I need to do for our trip plans to be complete!

So what I take is that I have a long time until October opens up and I can make ADR?:lmao:
