reservations are only open until July right now. See the first post in this thread for when months have opened - they don't follow the normal 180 day rule. It 'appears' that dates are open but if you go to make a reservation beyond July you won't get anything. :)

The months seem to be opening up about 3 months prior (end of April we got July; End of May we'll get August)

Yes exactly. Right now we are waiting for the August dates to open. If you see page 1, it seems they opened around the 25th or something, but we check everyday because you never know with Disney when they will open the window date exactly, but we know it will be the end of May for the month of August. Good luck to everyone!:wizard:

Waiting waiting waiting for Aug :surfweb:

I couldn't help myself, I called WDW dining to ask about WHEN they will be taking Wishes ressies for AUG - CM said probably June 1, I asked her on a scale of 1-10 how sure she was about that, she said 8.5 :rotfl:

Since I'm following this thread, I know to be checking around the end of month  and not to wait THAT long.

Good luck again to everyone waiting!!

Countdown is on for us ..so excited for her to get here (June 28th) and us to get to Orlando (JUly 3)!!

Patiently (but not really) still waiting for August! I'm so nervous they are going to release them when we are away for Memorial Day weekend! Of course I'll keep checking, but I just so worried I'll miss it! Keep us posted of you hear anything August Folks!

I have a question. Do they open up the reservations on line and over the phone at the same time??

I'm waiting for september, so it will prolly open late June. Well, June 16-20 I'll be at the world, and I don't want to miss out booking for my september trip (there will be 7 of us, so I know I need to jump at it quick!) I've already told my husband he will have to be checking the threads and reservation page for me, but he doesn't have quite the same level of attention that I do :) It would make me feel much better to know that this is something I could check on while I was at my resort. Any ideas??

Well I guess I'll join the Aug waiting team. I'm hoping for the 21st.

Anyone know why Disney does the reservations for the party this way? What is the point of not announcing when you can book :confused3 and why is it not part of the whole 140 day booking system?

I have a couple more questions for all you Dessert Party Vets is how many tables are their? If we have only two in our party will we be sitting with another couple?

Not sure how many tables there are, but it didn't feel crowded, not even at the buffet.

We had a table for 2 in the first row, you have your own table, but the chairs are pretty cloe together, you'll probably sit the same distance from your partner as to the person sitting next to you at the ne ighboring table.

I believe, but I could be mistaken, that when they first introduced the party it was only supposed to be temporary or a trial type thing so they didn't let people make reservations far in advance because they didn't know when they were going to stop offering the party. I assume it is the same thing, maybe they didn't think it would be as popular as it is?

Thanks I'll be with my DD so I'm not looking do a romantic setting but I don't think I'd like to share a table in this type of setting (I want to get my $'s worth and my DD is used to how much I can eat :rolleyes1)

That's what I've heard as well, but you'd think by now they would have figured it out.

Unless...
They like to keep raising the prices:rotfl2:

OK now in adds up.

I thought maybe the scheduling delay reflected the official calendar release and finalized times - does the desert party change in time based on time of the fireworks?

That could be a possibility but the calendar, including fireworks time, is on their website (so I assume official) for as far out as November.

I tend to think it is just so that they can end it sooner than 180 days out if they want to. Don't really know the reasoning behind that though. Could also be that by not doing the 180+10 it gives offsite guests the same opportunity to make reservations? Not really sure how that benefits disney though, really would just be another incentive for people to stay on site. Of course the price thing could always be a reason too.

The only thing I am really sure of though is that it is kind of a pain to have to wait and watch for a separate unknown date to make these reservations instead of just including it with dining reservations.
Thank goodness for the dis. :woohoo:

I have Wishes DP planned for July 5th. I am not sure what time to arrive? I know they give you seating times, they did not give me one so I'm wondering what time to get there. The CM who booked me said it starts at 9 so just come then, (but I know that getting there at 9 is a bit late? I was wondering about getting there a bit earlier having some desserts and then heading to try and watch the parade? then back. is that even doable?

Being a seasoned summer visitor, as well as having been there over 4th of July, my suggestion would be as follows.

Go to the party at 9:00 and enjoy your desserts. Wishes will be at 10:00. Then, normally, there is a second MSEP at 11:00. Unless you have young kiddos that couldn't hang that late, that's the plan I'd suggest. Running back and forth to MSEP between 9:00-10:00, with crowds, etc... won't leave you much time to enjoy the dessert party.

What factors into your decision on which night of your trip to do the dessert party?

Specific celebration, last night of your trip, sometime in the middle, or has anyone risked scheduling it for your arrival day?

And do you or do you not have dinner when you book a dessert party?

TIA :goodvibes

We are going on the 4th and thinking about leaving after the fireworks. I assume that's what a lot of people plan on doing, as well. Wondering if it's worth it to wait until after the second MSEP or leave after the fireworks?

I know for us, we are doing a later lunch ..and then the dessert party. Skipping dinner, pretty much, all together. We may grab a snack or something but we already have so much food planned (a waffle, being one of them!! ..and then the late lunch I spoke of) that we figured dinner would only make us incredibly full when trying to enjoy the party :D

I have never done the party, but we are planning to do it on the day of my daughter's birthday (we are celebrating her's and my niece's on the same day). We probably are planning on having dinner (mostly b/c of the young ones), but it will probably be a counter service, or more like a big snack earlier in the evening.

Hope you figure out which day you want (and then are able to schedule that day!!:rotfl:)

YES!! Wait until after the second MSEP. We have been on July 3, and it will be a NIGHTMARE to try to get out of there after Wishes :scared: I would estimate it will take you at least an hour just to get from the Terrace to the front of the park. When we were there they actually had to start Spectro 45 minutes (or more) late due to the hoardes of people still trying to leave the park at 11 when it was supposed to start :faint:

We normally choose to book it on an EMH night (Sundays and Fridays,) so that we can relax and take our time afterwards. They will have a few drinks and treats still out as they're cleaning up, and they encourage you to continue snacking since they have to throw out whatever isn't eaten. Once the masses start clearing out you can head out into the park and burn off all your sugar :rotfl:
