Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

I've been tempted a few times to book this one but I just can't imagine gorging myself on $27 worth of dessert. Obviously it's popular though. Is there anything I'm missing?

It was SO worth it. We went with 7 family members at the end of May and after a long, hot day of rides etc it was a welcome rest and leisure fireworks (unlike sitting or standing in a good viewing spot for hours prior and having people crowd in and stand in front at the last minute etc...)

I got some great photos of the presentation/fireworks. The kids ate desserts happily (and the chocolate dipped strawberries were great!!!). I'd do it again just to avoid the crowd of hot sticky people around main street!

Hi All,

This is my first post!
Just thought I would let you know that the dates for 30th December were not coming up as available online. I phoned the Disney reservation line and they had availability for the earlier show but nothing was showing up for the later party that night.

I booked the earlier show! So excited.:cheer2:
Good luck with your reservations.

:yay:

The earlier show on the 30th is available online, I just booked.

Good luck with your reservations

6:40? I did the same but she assured me it was for the New Years Eve fireworks. She said that when they figure out what time they'll be shooting them off, check in will be one hour before. I questioned her about it and she said she could tell by the price it wasn't the regular Wishes dessert package. And it's called the New Years Eve Fireworks Dessert Party.

How are you seeing it online? I'm staying through New Year's Day and can currently select times on the 29th and the 1st but the 30th and 31st are grayed out for me.

I would call again and ask to speak to a supervisor. The first time I called the CM assured me that the 6:35pm time she gave me was for the Fantasy in theSky fireworks because of the higher price. I got that one first and that was the time it showed on MDE. An hour later, I called again because I needed confirmation that I had the right one. This time the CM said that there were 2 on that night same price, 1 was wishes at around 7 and the other Fantasy at midnight with an 11:05 (what was available) check in time. She switched my reservation over and now my MDE shows a check in time of 11:05pm. Hope that helps and you are able to get the right one.

I did call them again... This morning. I was assured that I was reserved for the NYE fireworks. I asked why the time was 6:40. She said it was a new policy they just started because they're not sure when the fireworks will happen and do to make sure the reservations people don't get backed up with people trying to figure out times, she said all were being booked at 6:40 and being told to check 2 weeks before the 30th to find out what time to check in (an hour before the FW). This is the exact same explanation I was given by a different CM yesterday.

But is the Holiday Wishes ~$50 or $30 that night? (Or are they both extra?)
What if I try to reserve both? I may try that tonight but I get the impression the CMs can't distinguish?

Shout out to Clawdya for the information. :cool1:

I called a 3rd time this afternoon to ask about my Dec 30th reservation. Explained what the two other cast members had said and also said somebody i knew had an 11 pm reservation. This cast member seemed completely clueless and started to read the description of what the dessert package was....it includes this, you check in 1 hour before, blah blah blah. Then she read, there are 2 fireworks that evening one at 7:30 and one at 11:00 (I suspect it's supposed to be midnight). And I said, yes...I wanted the 11 pm one...the later one. I emphasized this in both my earlier calls. She putters around her computer and says she's asked a colleague because she didn't know there was an 11 pm booking time. They have to put the time in for it to show up... All this time I'm waiting for her to put it in ... but she continues to play around on her computer doing who knows what. She says...after 15 minutes, I'll put that time in and see what comes up. Nothing .... she says it looks to be full. I said, "if nobody know knows there's an 11 pm booking time then how can it be full?" She putters around the computer again and she says, "I'll check the venue itself ...." and then she hung up on me. And the voice that talks about the survey came onto the line. :furious: arrrrrrgh

So I call back, got somebody else ... explained that I had just spent 20 minutes and I didn't really want to say it all over again. At this point, I was frustrated and mad and having a mini-melt down because the last CM seemed to be so infuriatingly slow and plodding. :rotfl: Anyway, this one was calm, didn't know about the second fireworks either...wondered if you had to check in at 6:40 and come back for the 11 pm fireworks. uh... no. I said I've done this before. You don't eat your dessert, leave and come back 4 hours later. She tried the time of 11 pm, got nothing. She then tried the venue itself. Found me an 11:05 pm time slot ... don't know how. And NOW, I am sure we have the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks.:cool1:

So here's the hint when they try to put you in at 6:40 or 6:30. Insist they search by venue. Putting in 11 pm won't work either....they only seemed to find it when they searched on the Tomorrowland Terrace.

>Sigh<

It's not the TIME at all that counts it's the price. I'm showing a 6:30 arrival time.

I just called back and after every CM has told me I'm signed up for the earlier fireworks party which is what I REQUESTED EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I'm now told I'm signed up for the 11 o'clock party and there's no availability for the earlier party.

:furious:

I had read (last year) that the Dessert Party reservations came available 30 - 60 days out. Now I realize I am way behind the 8 ball! I was looking for reservations on October 27 or 29 and the website tells me no tables available.:confused3

Has anyone had success getting tickets after the event is sold out? Should I hope for cancellations and check the website every day or is that a waste of time?

Thank you.

Yes - I scored a Wishes Dessert Reservation last year at 30 days out. What I did was setup a webbrowser window opened to the Fireworks Dessert Party dining reservation page and then kept hitting "Find Tables" whenever I had a spare second. Eventually one opened up!

Called back AGAIN (this is "fun")

This CM told me there's only ONE fireworks show on 12/30 and it's the Holiday Wishes one which is what I'm booked for and it's titled the "New Years Eve Fireworks Extravaganza" and that's why it costs $50. She was adamant that there was no 11:50pm fireworks that night and that's all she can book but there's availability for that... there's NO availability for EITHER fireworks show on the 31st.

:sad2:

They are sooooo confused right now. And it doesn't help that the schedule for Dec 30th only shows one fireworks show. It's the time that counts, not the price since both are the same price. There should be availability for the 6:40 time slot since I just moved from that to the 11:05 one. LOL

We're going to Hollywood Studios for New Year's Eve.... this way we see 2 NYE fireworks and while it will be packed, it might not be as crazy s MK.

Third attempt -

No debating with me about 2 shows - says she'll look it up - demands that I give her the resort reservation showing I can do 180+10 (Hullo - we're *within* the 180 day window here?) Tells me the later show is all filled up.

Huh?!

Tell her to search by venue.... not all the regular ways they usually do it. Tell her an earlier CM did it for somebody you know 2 hours ago.

I know this is a long shot, but if anyone has a ressie for the party on 10/22 that they want to get rid of, I would be more than happy to take it off your hands. Just PM me to coordinate! In the meantime, I'll just keep checking ad checking...:surfweb:

Thank you pixel! "Search by venue" is the magic phrase. I finally got a CM that would actually interact with me and looked up the fireworks times again and told me there was only the 6:30 time when I asked him to please try "searching the venue"

pause...

"Huh.... You're right... there is an 11pm time!"

Thank you!

Now they just have to move the early run of Wishes to 8:30 so it doesn't conflict with my BoG RSVP! :rotfl:

I totally dropped the ball and thought this was a 60 day reservation... I'm probably not going to get reservations for the first week in November, am I?

Never say never, but it will take some effort and perseverance.
