Wishes, A Trip Come True: Tink & Belle do WDW
August 2007/ September 2007 Pre-Trip Report

When stars are born, they possess a gift or two....One of those is, they have the power to make a wish come true

A Wish come true.....this upcoming trip to WDW fulfills so many wishes...but most of all it grants the wish to my best friend, Belle_373, and myself, Tinkerbelle_325. We are two, hopelessly Disney obsessed individuals, and to fully understand just how deeply Disney connects our friendship a little back story is needed....

:tink:

Once Upon a Time, Not too long ago, there were two History Majors who met on their first day of University. From there a friendship developed, but little did they know that the magic :wizard: of Disney would intervene and make them the best of friends.

During one particularly boring lecture in April of 2005 the two friends realized that they would be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at the same time that May. They briefly discussed their plans and concluded that they would both be at Epcot on the night of May 19th, but never planned to meet.

Fast-forward to the 19th. Tink was sending an email postcard from a kiosk at Innoventions, when Belle wandered by and spotted a Canadian email address on the screen overhead. Tink turned around to come face to face with Belle. In disbelief the two girls laughed and took a picture (one that we refuse to post because it is SO unflattering :lmao: ) to remember the moment by. From that moment on the two became the best of friends!

:tink:

So there is the little story of our 1st time at WDW together. Pretty much from that moment on we were determined to plan a trip to "the World". In 2006 we both became Annual Passholders and visited WDW multiple times, but never together.

So, in Jan 2007 I received a postcard offering 40% off a room only booking for multiple periods of time. It didn't take long to convince my parents to book a week at the Polynesian from August 25th - September 2nd.

Matters were made more complicated with the announcement of Free Dining. Belle and I felt this offer was just too good to pass up....but I had already booked a week with my parents...what to do....what to do....

**I KNOW!!** How about 2 weeks at WDW?? :thumbsup2 hehe

We decided that Belle would fly down on Sept 2nd and that she and I would check in to Coronado Springs. My parents opted for a few days in Fort Myers,Florida before flying home themselves. So after a bit of re-arranging with AirTran it was resolved....

Wishes, A Trip Come True became a REALITY!

**Cast of Characters**

~*TRIP 1*~ The One with the Parents

Tink (Me)
FAVORITE PARK: Epcot
FAVORITE RIDE: Splash Mountain
FAVORITE WDW FOOD: Dole Whips
I'm a 22 year old Disney Obsessive. This will be my 25th trip to WDW!! This trip is a celebration of my graduation from university. I am the planner of the family, as well as the finder of discounts. I have learned very well in the past few years how to seek out any and every discount code whether Disney, or Avis, or cheap airline fares. I have become even more snap happy than my DMom, and take pictures of practically everything on my trips. I'm also a WDW Foodie.

DMom
FAVORITE PARK: Epcot
FAVORITE RIDE: Impressions de France
FAVORITE WDW FOOD: Popcorn from Main Street
My DMom is actually the person in our family who has been to WDW the most. This is her 30th trip to the World. She adores France and would gladly spend her entire vacation in the French pavillion. We call her the white rabbit because she has to contend with myself and my DDad who are always late. She keeps us somewhat on schedule god love her lol.

DDad
FAVORITE PARK: Epcot
FAVORITE RIDE: Pirates of the Caribbean
FAVORITE WDW FOOD: Soups (ie Cheese Soup, French Onion Soup, Guinness Stew etc..)
My DDad is the closet Disney obsessive. He appears normal (unlike myself who is alway ready to profess my Disney obsessiveness ) until it comes to booking WDW trips and arriving there. He loves to people watch, like relaxing on Main Street and watching the people wander by. He is a WDW Foodie like me, and we strive to have at least 1 new ADR each trip.

Belle is my 21 year old Best Friend She too is a Disney obsessive. This will be her 8th trip to WDW. We have known each other since 1st year of University and we will be graduating together in June 2007. She loves the Magic Kingdom, Wishes and, like me, DISNEY FOOD. Hence the appeal of the FREE DINING.

~*TRIP 2*~ The One with Tink & Belle....AND FREE DINING!

SUCCESS! Belle and I are officially booked for Free Dining. I was up bright and early, dialing at 6:59. I almost fell off my chair when at 7 on the dot I was connected straight through to a Cast Member!! :yay: However, things got a bit stressful from there. She was a bit....bland? No magic, no enthusiasm (but after all its 7am so I give the woman the benefit of the doubt) She quickly runs through the basics of name, address, phone #. I tell her my dates, resort etc..Everything is going smoothly until she asks for a promotional code. Ok, it is now 7:03am....NO ONE has posted the code yet!!!!! :scared1: OMG OMG OMG....ok breathe Tink breathe....I tell her that I wasn't aware a code was needed and that I had been informed that the package was being released to the general public today (ie: I stalled as I searched like a mad woman through the DISboards, mousesavers, allearsnet etc... :surfweb: ) She then informs me that I cannot book the package unless I have a Disney Visa. Now just hold on a minute here missey! I kindly inform her that I have a link to a newpaper article detailing the official disney press release claiming the package is to be made available to the general public today. She says "hold" and i think....how magical :wizard:  3 minutes later, I have my confirmation number. So I think it's smooth sailing until she says:
"Ma'am...you already have a reservation for these dates."

Me: "Um no, I do not"

CM: "Yes, you do"

Me: "No, I repeat, I do NOT. I have a reservation for Auust 25th - September 2nd at the Polynesian. And this reservation I have just booked with you begins on Sept 2nd."

CM: "Are you going to be in the central florida area any days outside the dates you have mentioned?"

Me: "Excuse me? I don't see how that is pertinant to what I am asking you to book or why you would need that information, but no, just those dates."

 Seriously, what is up with that? But hey, the end result is.....

FREE DINING!!

Well, my lovely laptop decided that it wanted to crash yesterday...permanently.

Here's the story. At about 2am we had a power failure and unfortunately my laptop was not plugged in to my surge protector. When the power came back on I believe the surge fried my laptop. I called Dell and was told that my hard drive was damaged as was my mother board and my CD/DVD drive. The kicker is that I am a mere 3 weeks outside warranty! :badpc:

To make a long story short, I will be buying a new laptop. But my sigh of relief in the title of the post is the fact that I backed up all my files just last week, including my Disney folder! I would have lost months of planning :scared1: confirmation numbers, ADR numbers. Not that I couldn't get them from WDTC but it would have been a LOT of work.

So yay! for CDs. :yay:

A few minor updates....

1) We got our Free Dining Confirmation in the mail! :cool1:

2) I'm envious of Belle because she will be in WDW 1 week from today :rolleyes1

3) I'm sick of studying and therefore procrastinating by doing this update...hehe.

I'm so psyched about trying out the Pirate and Princess Party on Sept 3rd. I have a lovely Captain Jack T-shirt I intend to wear and I want to get the pirate mickey ears. Belle is going to buy a princessy t-shirt and the princess mickey ears. We both loved MNSSHP last year, so we're sure that we will love this event too.

Anyways, I guess that is all the procrastination I can do at the moment. Only 122 days!

So I've renamed our trip for the millionth time (it will likely receive a few new names before we leave and a new name when we return LOL).

However, first off....

We are feeling unloved :sad1:

No one has subscribed or even replied to our poor lil pre trippie. *sobs*

Ok...I think that is enough with the drama queen in me for today? Yes? So, moving on... ;)

The reason I have renamed my trip report was a conversation that Belle and I had the other day. We realized that because our food is free it gives us more money to spend on drinks! The fact that we both became legal in Florida in the past year (despite having been legal here in Canada since the age of 19) has left us with a burning desire to try every drink imaginable on WDW Property.

Here is our list to try at the moment:
- Frozen Margaritas from Mexico in Epcot
- Frozen Margaritas from Siestas Pool Bar at CSR
- Frozen Margaritas from the Pepper Market at CSR
(are we seeing a *slight* trend? hehe)
- Lapu Lapu from Tambu Lounge
- 'Ohana Colada from Tambu Lounge
- Blue Hawaiian from Tambu Lounge
- Year of a Million Dreams "Glowtini"
- Wine Tastings at Germany and France
- Stella Artois from the UK Beer Stand
- Orange & Grand Marnier and Lemon & Grey Goose Slushies from France
- Margaritas at Typhoon Lagoon
- Strawberry Daiquiris at Typhoon Lagoon
- Rum Runner at Typhoon Lagoon
- Ice Wine Martini at Le Cellier

So that is the tentative list....any suggestions? :dance3:

While I should in fact be packing as I am leaving for California tomorrow....instead I am in the mood to update our Pre-Trip Report.

In searching through my WDW pics I was able to find a few pictures that are very appropriate for the theme of Belle and my vacation.
