Wishes 10/8/11 WP/GF-- Love's First Kiss-- Trip Report Complete

Yay!!! I have been checking to see if you posted all day long, and it was well worth the wait. Beautiful pictures as usual! Did Carley get to sit in the carraige as well? I am so anxious to see the reception room and the wishing well. Please tell me you aren't stopping for the night :rotfl: I forget that I am three hours earlier than you, and I certainly don't expect you to post at 12:45am. I know we are getting close!!!

Gahhhhhhh omg the ponies!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I still have an extreme little girl obsession with ponies. Please don't judge me. I still get my little ponies for Christmas every year.) They're SO pretty. You are too, but the ponies!!!!

I can't wait to see your reception. I know it's going to be beautifullllll.

I love all your pictures and how detail oriented you are with that day. I also like reading this cause we have Meri as our planner and it seems like she took great care of you guys on that day and Im so excited for our special day too.

All I am going to say is... WOW! I have been sitting here reading through your TR forcing myself not to cry!. Reverend Day is not the only one who can sense the love between you and your husband, because I can totally feel the love just from reading you posts! Everything is so romantic and I am looking forwarding to reading more!

Aw, yay for happy ponies! I feel the same way about animals as you do. I see even the littlest animal not well taken care of and it upsets me. My dogs even having little 'tears' in their eyes makes me sad!

Can't wait for more!!

Brandon is an animal person too. We always joke that lost dogs know where we are. We have taken in 5 wandering dogs this year (and successfully returned all of them to their owners :thumbsup2) We get so excited for each trip to Animal Kingdom. I don't even like Expedition Everest or the Nemo show. We just love to see all the animals.

ur photos r awesome :thumbsup2

Thank you!!

Haha, I usually stop posting when Brandon says "Are you still on the Disboards??" That's my cue that I'm up too late! Thank you for reading-- reception coming up next!

It's impossible not to get giddy around all those pretty white ponies! No judging! :)

Thank you! Yes, Meri was great on our wedding day. She is very organized and thorough, and she will take good care of you! She is also extremely easy to get in touch with on the days surrounding the wedding. We have no complaints about Meri from our trip.

Your carriage pictures are gorgeous!

Thank you! Those are some of my favorites!

Thank you so much! I'm touched by your kind words. I can get a bit sappy at times, but I think that's acceptable when we're talking about weddings! I am just so, so happy to be with Brandon.

I read this trip report every day, I absolutely love it. <3 The magic shows in each and every picture that you have, and I can totally see the love and excitement in everyone's eyes. <3 This trip report absolutely embodies everything I want in my wedding.

You look BEAUTIFUL!

Then Meri took us to see the ballroom. I was so excited!

(Just FYI-- I'm going to mix professional pics and those taken on our camera, in order to best show the elements of the reception. If you see people lurking in the background, obviously they weren't there when we got to see the room!)

Meri and Danny pulled back the doors.

The cake. I was so excited to see this because I had designed it myself. It looked exactly how I had pictured it.

The topper. I couldn't find any jeweled toppers for less than $70, so I ordered a really cheap, plain letter and went crazy with the glitter spray!

The groom's cake. Brandon told the bakery that he wanted something chocolate and sculptural, but it was up to them exactly what. We were beyond thrilled with how it turned out.

I am loving your trip report...except you make me cry almost every entry!! You are doing such a terrific job sharing the emotion of the day, I feel like I'm right there with you!! So far, every element (even the rain!!) has been beautiful and perfect and feels very YOU. You both looked so beautiful and so happy...and I don't think I've ever seen the coach with the lights on when it wasn't really dark out...it was a perfect and romantic effect!!!

Can't wait to hear more about the reception...the room looks gorgeous, though with the uplighting and the tulle with the sparkly lights...Love the centerpieces and the cakes...WOW!!!

Thank you for taking all of us with you!!!

Brooke

EEEEEEEK (that's me squealing :rotfl:) It is everything I imagined times 1000! And the wishing well  I know you weren't sure if it was worth the money, but it absolutely set the tone and made your reception that much more fairytale like. The flowers, oh..and the cake...gorgeous! What happens to all of the flower arrangements after the wedding? I think I would be crying if I had to leave them there. When they pulled back the doors to show you the room, you must have just been so ecstatic and proud. Great job coordinating and seeing your vision through! Maybe more tonight????

I was so happy with the ballroom. To be honest, it was a little smaller than I expected it would be, but it turned out to be the perfect size. There was no awkward empty part of the room. It really was beautiful. This is one of the instances when I think you can't always tell from the pictures how beautiful and romantic the lighting was. It was soft and pink (but not overwhelmingly girly) and really welcoming.

We went back to our little snack room, waiting for our guests to get into the ballroom. Apparently many people thought the cocktail hour WAS the reception space! I guess because it was a ballroom with round tables and food stations--- it seemed plausible? Anyway, it made for a very cool TA-DA! moment when our guests walked into the real reception.

My mom stopped on her way to help me bustle. I was sad to hide my pretty train, but it was nice to not worry about it getting wet anymore. I had held my skirt, train, and veil up all day because I couldn’t bear to drag them across a wet floor.

Then it was time for our entrance. The DJ played “Got to Get You Into My Life” by the Beatles.

I can't remember what we were laughing about here!

PH258361011-0558.jpg

PH258361011-0561.jpg

Then our first dance song started up. It was "Hold On" by Michael Buble. We feel a real connection to it. It has such a beautiful meaning. If we have nothing but each other, that's enough. That's what marriage means to us.

We hadn't really practiced the first dance much. I once thought about choreographing it (I have a dance background) but Brandon thought he wouldn't enjoy the moment if he had to remember steps. I'm SO GLAD we didn't choreograph. I think it would have made the dance feel less romantic.

I have heard people say their first dance was a little awkward, but our experience was completely opposite. It was the most perfect four minutes ever. I had this immense feeling of relief, comfort, happiness-- completion. That really is the best word for it. This is my family, and it is perfect. I was far more emotional now than I was during the ceremony.

Ummmmm I want to LIVE in your reception. Seriously! It's SO pretty!!!!! You did such a fabulous job. Did you take the wishing well home with you? If you did, I won't tell.

Oh, Michelle! You had the perfect fairytale. :bride: You are so gorgeous and everything looked perfect. I teared up a couple times reading through wedding day and I can't wait to read the rest. Congrats and best wishes!

I love reading about your wedding so much! I have a little less than 5 months until mine and through all the stress, your report is keeping me going. Such a gorgeous and magical day (and you tell it so well!). I absolutely love your lounge area too! What a great idea! Were people really taking advantage of it?

I keep checking for more! popcorn::
