Ok, I'm going to show my ignorance here, but where is this? I might actually have the 14th free (what a novelty!)
ETA: Nevermind, that's the Outer Banks one, right? I wonder if I could get all the way there. Hmm...
ETA x2: Seriously? A 3:30pm finish time?? Wow. That is SERIOUSLY walker friendly. I wonder how I could convince DH to let me go up there so soon after the Myrtle Beach race weekend. That would be so cool. I've been wanting to go see Kitty Hawk and everything for a while anyway!
I just got back from my long run. It was 4 miles this week.
Hey, so 2 decent runs this weekend - one 7 mile yesterday, one ~11-12 mile today. Decent pace (7:15 or so). Towards the end of the run today things were just clicking in. I had hurt my knee a few months ago and it really messed up my ability to get into the groove. Hopefully by Oct 31 I'll be able to get right into my groove for MCM.
No long run for me this week. Recovery from the half last weekend, and I caught a cold while on a biz trip in San Antonio last week. I was gone from July 28th-Aug 7th, between the Chicago half and the work trip, and today I am resting on the couch and trying to kick this cold.
My DH may start getting a little fussy if I start taking solo trips every other weekend! And, I doubt he'd go for letting me drag him and the kids up there and then leaving them alone for a few hours while I do the half.
Sometimes it would be much more convenient to be single.![]()
My long run this weekend was a 16 miler. Didn't finish strong, but at least I got the miles in, more walking than running at the end than I would have liked. The numbers just keep getting higher until DL Labor Day weekend. At least I should then be able to run a strong 1/2, maybe even a DL PR!Matt- definitely jealous of your pace.
I dream of getting down to a 10minute pace!
Hey Leigh, I saw a clip this morning of Tebow and the Broncos made him shave part of his head!! It was like Friar Tuck from Robin Hood. I felt so bad for him. I was looking at LSU's schedule today and d-day is 10/8 in the Swamp.!![]()
you are not a slacker!! you ran longer than me! but you have probably been at it longer than me too! you won't be swept and I know what you mean about the medal.. I am running the 1/2 so I will get the Donald.. but I want the Mickey!!!Feeling like a big ol slacker...my longest run this weekend was 4 miles...starting a new job on Tuesday too so that is going to be hard to get a new schedule down...plus I have been using the heat as an excuse not to run as wellHopefully I am not swept during the wine&dine half
I need that medal!!!
Have to tell you it felt AWESOME running outside today.. I am a stay at home mom with a 7 year old and a 3 year old so my weekday runs consist of me running on the treadmill watching my sons play wii!But its okay, I actually don't mind the treadmill.. but I do my longer runs on the weekend outside.. and it was nice hitting the trail today.
Anyone post their miles on Dailymile? its a pretty cool site to track your workouts.. if you do, here's my link to add me as a friend!

swim-mom, I think I need to look into compression sleeves if they help with shins? I had a LOT of trouble with my shins at the Chicago RnR half last weekend.
Glad to see you here!
