I have my first ever driving lesson tomorrow at 10.45am (so you may wish to avoid driving around South Leeds between then and 12.45pm! :lmao: ) I'm pretty nervous as I'm very uncomfortable being out on the road even as a passenger due to being in a few crashes. Hoping once I've met my instructor and it's begun, I'll be a bit better! Right now this is me! --> :scared1:

Good Luck. I am sure you will be ok once you have met your instructor. Let us know how you get on:)

Sophie, you will feel so much better as its you thats in control the car, not as a passenger. good luck with your first driving lesson!sure you'll be fine!:goodvibes

Good luck with your driving lessons. I started taking driving lessons just over 18 months ago when I was 50. I was really nervous but thanks to a good instructor I passed my theory and my practical test first time. Believe me Queenie if I can do it so can you. :goodvibes

Good luck. :) It's really fun learning to drive so I hope you enjoy it. :goodvibes

how did it go

Hi all, sorry for not coming on yesterday, net died all afternoon and when it came back we had work that needed doing.

Driving lesson went well. My instructor (Melanie) thinks I'm a fast leaner and shouldn't have too many big problems. I have 2 hour lessons and by the end of yesterday I was doing 20mph in second gear, pulling away and stopping pretty smoothly (most of the time!) Pretty good for first time! I also did the steering part of a few 3 point turns whilst she contolled pedals so I could get used to the feel of the wheel and how much give it had. Scariest part was near the end of the lesson, I was pulling into the kerb and checked my rear view mirror and for the first time there was actually a car behind me!
