Since my DH is deploying to Iraq on Friday, I have decided to go "home" to FL earlier than I had originally planned!! :teeth: This is really helping me deal with him leaving.

Let me fill you in a little....my mom has not seen us since last July and I had a baby girl on November 28th. She couldn't come up to see us at that time because she has a strange fear of flying. I say strange because she has NEVER BEEN ON A PLANE!!! What is she afraid of??? Well since we live so far away and it is expensive to go home (military pay is pretty bad) we only get to see our family once a year for a short time. This year I decided to go for the whole summer since DH is going to deploy. We are staying with family who will very generously feed us and house us for the entire time. :cheer2: I have enlisted the aid of my aunt to surprise my mom. Thank you Aunt Iva!!!

I just decided to do this last night (man, it was hard to sleep since I am excited) so all morning I have been on the phone making arrangements for leaving for two months at the spur of the moment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!!! I had to change Holly's appointments for her 6mo shots and explain to Remy's school why she will miss the last two weeks. On a side note: Remy is getting out of school on the 24th (I am making her finish out this week) and the last 7 days consist of two half days (what is the point of going to school for only 2 hours?!), a field trip, and a picnic day. So she is technically only missing 3 days of real school. I also had to find someone to take care of our cat and dog, not to mention the mail and the house!!

Now, my mom is expecting us to leave NY for our summer vacation on June 29, but now we are leaving on Monday!! She has NO CLUE of my evil plan. I called her last night to see what hours she was working (I gave her some dumb story about how I wanted to know so I could call her and she bought it  ) and I am just gonna sneak up behind her at work and wait until she notices us!! So if any of ya'll are in the Sams Club in Ocala on Tuesday and see a woman screaming and crying please do not be alarmed!! This will make all the times I had to spend opening packages (my mom is a TAPING MANIAC) and listening to whining about us being gone and BLAH BLAH BLAH things my mom does to me worth it!! I have found the perfect revenge and it won't even kill her (hopefully).:worship: *sigh* I am now better than her at being evil.

Now I just have to keep blabbermouth Remy away from the phone until we leave so she doesn't warn my mom. Never expect a kindergartener to be your ally, they will sell you out!! Remy did this when we found out I was pregnant! Wish me luck!!!

That sounds like such a nice way to surprise her! That is something I would actually like to see. Are you going at teh end of her shift? Otherwise it might be hard for her to let you leave, even if it is just for a short time.

That is so exciting! I love surprising people!!! Have a great time in sunny FL!

Kristi

That sounds like a good plan!:sunny:

About 10 years ago, DH & I got DBIL and his 3 kids to come in from Texas for a week or so at Christmas as a surprise to DH's parents. It was wonderful to see the look on their faces when they showed up in their house!

Hope everything goes o.k.!! I'm sure your mom will love it!

Wow, will she ever be surprised. Maybe bring some nitro pills and smelling salts.:D I personally hate surprises, my family knows to never do things like that to me.

Oh Angela! You have been busy. It made me tired to read this. I think it's a great plan and I know what you mean about kindergarteners, I have one too. :D
My thoughts and prayers will be with you when your DH deploys.

She is going to love it! We something similiar once. We drove down then
called her on our cell phone to open her front door. She nearly died too.

If your driving, be safe and sound.

Happy Thoughts to all,

That will be so neat for her! I bet she will be so surprised to see you! It is nice that you get to spend the whole summer with your family! Have a great time and enjoy yourself!

What a wonderful plan for sooooo many reasons. Please let us know how the surprise works out and have a safe and happy summer. Prayers are with your DH and all our other service people.

What a great surprise. Does someone have a computer you can use to let us know how it turned out? I hope so! Have a safe trip. :D

I'm sure she will love it.

Good luck, Angela, with your plan!! Something good will come out of DHs deployment anyway because if you can't spend the time with him, next best is your loving family. DH was in the Navy for 20 years and when he'd go I'd pack up my pets and drive home for awhile.

Stay safe!
Lois

Sounds like a wonderful surprise have a safe trip...Enjoy your time home.

WELCOME Home to Florida.

Does someone have a computer you can use to let us know how it turned out?

Yes, my cousin has a computer so I will be able to let people know how everything goes.

Thanks for all the support ya'll have given me with DH deploying and the wishes of luck!! I will keep in contact while I am back home!!

Angela~ that sounds like a great surprise... We did something like that to my niece when she was graduating from high school... first my cousin and his daughter surprised everyone by flying in (we ran into them while we were waiting to board the plane~ we were on the same flight), even my brother didn't know they were coming. Then we all sneaked into Michael's where my niece was working, man was she surprised and we kept coming up to her from all differnt aisles!! she wasn't expecting any of us to be able to come at all. It was a great surprise... I'm sure your Mom will love that type of surprise!!! Good Luck!!

Wow Angela sounds like a wonderful plan! Hope you have a safe trip and a wonderful time!
