This is taken from the current issue of All Ears, published by Deb Wills:

During last week's Year of a Million Dreams press event, Walt Disney World opened a special lounge in the Magic Kingdom for children who visit the parks through wish-granting organizations like Give Kids the World and Make-a-Wish Foundation. The "Disney Wish Lounge" is located between Casey's Corner and the Magic Kingdom Baby Care Center, just off Main Street USA, and is a spot where these special children and their families can rest and receive light refreshments and vacation-planning help without having to leave the park. The lounge is decorated with touches of Aladdin's Genie, a character known for granting wishes.

Just wanted to say that the lounge sounds like a great idea! ---Kathy

::yes::
does sound like a good idea.
I sae something posted about it on another board, but I didn't have time to find any confirmation. Thanks, Cheshire Figment, for posting this.

How wonderful!!!! I wish they had this when our DD had her Wish trip in November. Would have been a welcome relief.

I am so glad I read this!!! We leave for Albuquerque tomorrow, and will fly into Orlando on Sunday. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be spent at the Disney parks, and I'm sure that this will be a big help on Tuesday (considering we'll be at MK all day that day).

I do know that when the wish granters came over last weekend, they brought my son a tan hat with "DisneyHand" written on the back, and a picture of Genie embroidered on the front. He also got a page full of Genie stickers. When I finally went through all the paperwork stuff, I found a note saying that he is supposed to wear that hat so that CM's will recognize him as a wish kid. It also said that those hats are only given to wish kids, so it seems to be pretty special. It also said that he should wear one of the stickers (as could the whole family) on the days he's in the park, to help the CM's recognize him as a wish kid. I thought it was really neat, because DS still needs to wear a hat (his hair hasn't fully grown back yet) and this was perfect.

We are sooo excited!! Only two more days!!! :banana:

That is so great! I am so glad that Disney has relized there is a need for this and filled it. :)

Sounds like a really cool hat.
Hope you all have a great time.
Let us know when you get back.

Does anyone know if the Disney Wish Lounge has a restroom? :confused3
I have not heard of any restrooms, but my guess is that it might not since there are restrooms in the Baby Care Center and in First Aid, which are in the same area.
All I have heard of for sure in the lounge is a big screen TV, comfortable chairs and couch, and Guest Relations CMs who can help you with reservations or planning.
If your child needs a place to lie down, First Aid is very close by and has cots in individual cublcles that can be used for resting. First Aid has a restroom inside that is usually not busy and is available for people with special needs as well as people using First Aid.
