oh my i'm too far behind to catch up! been down sick for a few days...will rejoin though i'll be gone again all weekend.
DOn't worry about catching up.... just pop in where ever you can! Hope you are on the mend!

Hi All!!!
Hoping I can join. I started Weight Watchers on Monday. I need all the support I can get. So far, I'm finding it hard to eat all my points, lol.
I was an avid runner 3 years ago and then I just stopped (not sure why). I have since put back on all my weight and then some due to a leg fracture in April. I visit the DISboards daily, multiple times a day and so I'm hoping that being a part of this thread will help me to stick to my goals!
I'm not sure how all this works on this thread so I'm going to do some reading and if I have any questions, I'll be sure to ask.
WELCOME!!! Feel free to go back and read page one.... it should fill you in on all of the important details! After that, jump right in!!
We are always happy to have a new face and I personally am always glad to meet a fellow WW! And you will have plenty of running friends here as well.
Whenever you are ready feel free to introduce yourself a bit.... and the easiest way to jump in might be to start answering the QOTD!
I'm just now seeing a noticeable difference in the ways my clothes fit. My jeans are fitting better and my favorite pajama bottoms are loose!
It took me 17 pounds lost to notice! Is this typical? Will it continue to be so long for these noticeable milestones?
I'm going to squeeze one more question in today. What is a good timeframe for weights? 10-15 minutes 3 times a week? More? Less?
I used to hear that 10 poundss = 1 size in clothes and I wasn't always sure I believed that.... more recently I've heard 20 pounds = 1 size. So either way, you've probably lost at least a size... so your clothes will definitely be looser!
I'm not the go-to expert on weight training but I've always heard/read it had more to do with the weights and reps than the amount of time you put into it. I'll bet Sparkpeople or MFP has some good information.
My blog post is up!! My blog post is up!!

WOOHOO... I'll check it out later!

Summer or winter? All 4 seasons
Morning or night? Each has its special moments
Teal or lavender? Lavender
Traveler or homebody? Traveler, but after a long day at work, homebody!
Lake or Ocean? Definitely ocean!
Cats or dogs? Dogs
Reality shows or dramas? There are some of both I watch.
Camping or "glamping"? Neither! Give me a cruise any day!
Pinterest or Facebook? Both
Chips or chocolate? Chocolate AND chips! Or chocolate chips too!!!
Zumba or yoga? Ballroom dancing!
Skirt or pants? Skirt
Love your chips/chocolate answer. I've actually been waiting for someone to say "chocolate-covered potato chips"! And I've had them and they are unbelievably good! OOOOPSS.... pretend you didn't hear that!
So I've finally hit my brick wall. I'm bummed. Over the last six weeks, I've lost 17 pounds. I was just starting to feel good about actually seeing a difference. And over the last 4 days, I have either stayed put or even have gained back a pound this morning! And I haven't changed my eating habits! In fact, I had soup for both lunch and dinner yesterday. How the heck can I GAIN weight with liquid meals?!??! This Friday's loss is going to be sad for me I think. Wonder what it is that has me at a stand-still.
DO NOT STRESS!! It was bound to happen.... an unexpected gain or maintain. GIVE YOURSELF A PASS for this week! Chalk it up to salt, hormones, or the weather.... but DO NOT get frustrated. 17 pounds in 6 weeks is BEYOND WONDERFUL.... and now your body needs a week to catch up with itself! And liquid or solid, it is about the calories.
I would definitely recommend staying off the scale for a few days. It is obviously playing stress games with you right now. DO NOT be sad on Friday.... just learn from it.
If you are truly doing everything you should be (weighing/measuring portions, tracking food, exercise, eating the RIGHT foods, getting enough sleep, staying hydrated), then you have no need to worry. The weight will start to come off again. And if it doesn't, then you can come talk to us and we can help you regroup and get things moving in the right direction!

Afternoon everyone! Short and sweet work day! Fourth load of wash for the day is running, sheets and towels are in off the line (and barely dry in this changing fall sunlight) and jeans were moved to the front of the house to catch the end-of-the-day sunshine. Dishwasher is running too. Now time to figure out dinner. I didn't plan tonight's meal over the weekend because I didn't have DH's schedule yet. He is away today but said he'd be back tonight.... but I don't know if that meant for dinner, for Survivor, or late, so I need to text him.
As soon as I get dinner started I'll get my mile walk done...hopefully even two miles! Then I need to remake all the beds...
Oooopss... gotta check a few things online first, before the evening gets away from me! BBL to chat.................P
