Since we didn't have a coach for these first few days, I will post a QOTD for tomorrow! (we still have coaching slots open people

)
QOTD Mon November 4
I am sure we all those "go to" foods when we are watching what we eat, healthy things have incorporated into our everday diet. What are some of yours?
My go-to foods.....
egg whites
salad greens
any/all veggies (these are my basics/must haves: carrots, celery, cukes, tomatoes, spinach, squash -all types, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, red bell peppers, onions)
low carb tortillas and "Sandwich Thins" type rolls
apples
low fat cheese (cheddar, stick cheese, cottage cheese)
organic all-natural SF peanut butter
green tea
quinoa
beans (fat-free refried, black, kidney, etc)
That is the short list of things I really couldn't go without.
My go-to foods for trying to lose weight are:
My own special recipe veggie chilli....eating it for lunch all week usually guarantees me around a 4lb loss if I'm careful with the other meals
Ready washed bagged salads.......add cooked meat and it's a very quick meal, particularly on evenings where I don't get home until 9:00pm, which is currently twice a week.
Baked Bean Lasagne...another weird and wonderful recipe from my slimming club, but it's great to grab out of the freezer in a morning and zap in the microwave at lunchtime.
We don't get a lot of low carb pre-prepared or packaged stuff in the UK, we concentrate more on low fat in the supermarkets. There is a lot of prepackaged stuff around preclaiming to be that, but I prefer to make my own. That's been one of the joys of this diet plan for me......I've started cooking from scratch again and am really enjoying it.
Would love the recipe for the veggie chili and the baked bean lasagna!
Hi! Is it too late for me to join? I'm new to this, but really excited. Who do I need to pm, and what info is needed? Thanks!
Joy
Never too late! Welcome aboard!!
Good morning.

I am going into work early and then yoga and walk my mile this evening. I skipped a yoga workout last week (to go into work extra) so I am going to go this evening and tomorrow. Not a huge yoga fan, but my back is tweaking and I think I really need to get a good stretch or two before the weekend.
I hope everyone has a good day.
We are having pumpkin "ricotta" (uses tofu) over spaghetti squash for dinner.
I made a single cookie yesterday. It was ok, but I am going to try a different recipe next time. The oven was already on, so I don't feel guilty for making it. And it was pretty easy.
Happy Tuesday!
The single cookie recipe sounds like a great idea. Hopefully you can tweak it and make it delicious!
One of the healthy food blogs that I follow posted that she is offering a "treats" cookbook now that includes lots of "free" (gluten-free, dairy-free, etc). Here is a link....

Also, I just got an email that the South Beach diet is now offering a GF cookbook. Here is the link for that, as well.....

Maybe one of these would be helpful??

MORNING ALL! Here I am, back from Minecon 2013! And of course, DS is sick...

Probably mostly just over-tired, but he did feel a bit warm to me and has been complaining about a headache for about 24 hours now, so I let him stay home today.
Wow, that weekend went by quickly!! I can say here that I am PROUD of most of the food choices I made..... but we did have a big pizza splurge on Sunday night. We were tired and just didn't feel like making our way to DTD to hit a restaurant there. DS really wanted to buy a pizza and get comfy at the hotel with our dinner.... so that is what we did! And I had another small splurge yesterday with a few TB of cookie dough (darn that DH for buying it for DS!). But honestly, overall, I had a great weekend. Plus I got lots of walking in around the convention center and at IOA!
But of course, we did get our bit of "Disney Magic" with a monorail round trip around Epcot and the MK.... plus we got off the monorail at the MK and walked down to the entrance to just take in a bit of the sights, sounds, and smells. But it was SUPER WEIRD and a bit anti-climactic knowing that we weren't actually going IN the park.
We had contemplated dinner at Chef Mickey's.... and they actually had an opening when we stopped at about 7pm.... but we didn't commit to it and when we returned later about 8:30, they didn't have anything left. So we decided it wasn't meant to be.... plus I was hesitant to spend the $80 plus tip it would have cost! We did catch a glimpse of Mickey though!
Our last morning was spent at DTD (really just an hour or so) and that was really nice. The weather was nice and there was a bit of fall decor around, which I've never experienced before (I've only ever visited Orlando in January, April, May, and December). Part of the plan to visit DTD included some Christmas shopping for DD. She would like one of the new Vera Bradley Disney wristlets for Christmas.... and of course, they were sold out of those.

Another thing that wasn't meant to be I suppose.
Home today to catch up on laundry and my WW work. I have my meeting tonight so I need to get ready for that. Plus I will take a walk outside today before I hit the shower.
TTYL........................P
