WISH Away the Pounds **Maddening March Challenge** All Welcome

Where are you lloydy (if you don't mind sharing) I'm guessng UK due to the Slimming World reference and the stones and pounds thing!!!

It freaks me out when I have conversations with people on the West Coast of America.....although it usually involves one of us being awake at a strange hour!

I'm in sunny (NOT) Hull!!!..I put Yorkshire in my profile because it sounds better!

Great pictures ladies! Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to all the new folks. :) We are getting to be quite a diverse group with folks from all over.

I still haven't gotten on the scale for March. Going to do it in the morning. We drove home today (500 miles). The plan was get up and have brunch with DS and head out around noon, but we hit the road early (got up at 4am) in order to avoid this silly storm. We did drive through some nasty rain with ice on the trees, but luckily no problems. I ate nothing but junk today. Peanut mms and coffee in the car. Going to make something with lentils for dinner if I ever get off the couch. Every time we come home from visiting DS I think I am a little sadder. We just don't want to be here anymore, but so far no luck with moving. It's not just missing Ds, but more just wanting to be somewhere else and done with this part of our lives. Does that make sense? Anyhow, all this 'stuff' is not helping with my healthy eating or dieting. Need to get my act together!

Anyhow, need to figure out what's for dinner and do some laundry. Have a great night! And a super Monday!

Hi everyone! Happy Oscar's Night! Very excited. Mostly because I am at my parent's, since I am still without heat at my place, but this means I am nice and warm! :)

This has been a VERY roller coaster weekend. Lots of ups and downs.

Got a bonus at work on Friday since I told them I wanted to start taking classes again! Its not much, but its enough to get me started. Here's hoping this month I can get a new job to really pay it off.

Had an semi-off plan weekend, unfortunately. I just really needed some chinese food this weekend. But, I was good about the rest of my meals on the days I ate it (and the leftovers), so I feel okay about it. Plus, I start the next level of my Power90 workout series today, so I'm excited about that.

A nice NSV today - I bought a dress, and its a 6!!!! To be fair, its a stretchy fabric, but I nearly cried when it fit over my hips!

Of course, realized that I left my favorite (and only) Mickey Mouse watch in the dressing room, and when I went back, it wasn't there. I asked, but it seems like someone must have taken it. :(

So, as I said, lots of ups and downs.

Magdalene, I wanted to say thank you for what you said. I really needed to hear that tonight. I've decided to give it until August. If I'm still not feeling NYC by then, and I don't know what I want to be doing, I'm going to apply to go back to WDW. Since I'll be technically back in school by then, I can apply for another college program. Then, while I figure out what I want to be doing, I'll at least be doing it somewhere warm, where I have friends.

Until then, you guys are the absolute best at keeping my spirits up! Helen, I'd be happy to coach 3/11 - 3/15!

I'm going to try this again.

As a little starter...we usually go through the process of introducing ourselves.....

Thought I'd do a little list that we could all stick to???

Real Name (if you want to share....) Maureen

Family: Married to DH 19 years, 3 kids - DS 17, DD 15, and DS turns 10 this month

Job/How you spend your days: Benefits Finance Specialist for a large consulting company

Hobbies/Interests: Reading, walking, spending time with my family, watching basebal

Your motivation for joining this thread: I've decided I've got to get this extra weight off.

Type of food/exercise plan you follow: I'm cutting portion sizes and using MFP to track everything. I'm also determined to walk at least 1 mile each day.

Anything else you want to tell us: I've been a lurker on the boards and get a lot of insperation from all of you!!!

After a rough February, I'm working to get myself undercontrol and into a routine so that I can continue it once baseball season starts. Both DS play so it makes for a crazy schedule once the season starts. Although at this point we still have about a foot and a half of snow that needs to melt for the high school season to start in 3 weeks.

Well I was up for last/first WI .. I've sent in my weight for both.. Happy March i'll be back at Lunch to check and catch up..

Goal for the month 5lbs lost

I did my weigh in and I am up--actually .4 (tenths) over Feb 1 weigh in. But still hoping a lot of that is travel weight and that the first pound or so comes off quickly.

I am determined to have an on plan month. :)

We got ice and snow last night. The daffodils should be blooming by now, but they haven't even come out of the ground yet! Not sure if I am going to work, but definitely not going until this afternoon.

Oh, and I signed us up for our 5th W&D this weekend. :) DS is running again too, but it will only be his second. :)

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all have a brilliant start into the new week! :goodvibes

I am finally healing well (I injured my knee badly at the beginning of last month going while running). So, the doctor said that middle of this week I should be able to restart running and other heavier exercise (walking has been ok for quite some while now). Can't wait!

I remember someone mentioning Jillian Michael's Body Revolution to me some time back (sorry, I don't remember who it was). And I looked at it and thought it sounded great, but then could not find it here in Germany. But with further research I found out that the DVDs are not country coded (usually DVDs from the US won't work in a European DVD player) and that Amazon had them and their delivery fee was acceptable. So I went ahead and ordered them this morning. They should arrive by mid March. Very excited!!!! I won't be able to finish it before my cruise, but I think it is better to start and then maybe have to restart again after the cruise than to not do anything!

I seem to have a spring energy boost at the moment! I think the longer daylight hours are really helping me - and the warmer temperatures! We are already up to 50 degrees every day and have lots of sunshine. So wonderful!!

I'm back in again. Not sure what's been going on the last 2 months but I think I'm feeling more focused. Last month I just could not stop eating and snacking!

Name Karen
Hubby and 2 boys (8 and 11)
I'm really bad about getting on here - but I do read what I can.

Used to be so committed to exercise but the last few months not so much.

I have a trip in June so I guess that realization is helping w motivation. I hate fat vacation pics ;)

Well we have another snow day (technically ice) here in Texas - not used to that! So I'm getting back on the treadmill.

Hi, everyone!

Waving weakly from over here...what's that line Emily Blunt has in The Devil Wears Prada...something like, "I'm one stomach flu away from goal weight" - ? Yeah, that would be me. Dropped two pounds over the weekend and still not feeling quite right. So my March starting weight is the lightest I've been in months, but I'm not sure it'll stay there once I get over this fun GI bug. But right now I have next to no appetite, and I'm feeling fairly lousy.

Another snow day today - looks like about 6" already, and it's supposed to keep snowing most of the day. I have some work to do (we're supposed to telework when our offices are closed), and then I think I may go back to bed. DDs are of course home today, too, but fortunately so is DH.

The big up for today, though, is riding a high from the Oscars last night and getting to see my friends Kristen & Bobby win an Oscar for "Let It Go" from Frozen. I was in *tears* and so happy for them - and their speech was wonderful! They are great people, and I'm so happy for them. Woo!

XO
Liz

Hello everyone! I would love to join in if I'm not too late? I followed along in February with the intention of joining in March then completely forgot to log on :( Here is my info in hopes I can participate!

Real Name: Sam

Family: Married for 4 years with 2 DS. Logan is 3 and Aaron is 3 months! Also have a furbaby named Nugget - he is a daschund terrier and my first born ;-)

Job/How you spend your days: I'm just winding down my maternity leave now and go back to work on Thursday :sad1: I work for an insurance company in disability claims. I get to work from home the majority of the time so it's a very flexible arrangement!

Hobbies/Interests: Movies, hanging with family and travel

Your motivation for joining this thread:After having my second I have a few pounds ledt but unfortunately have 30 or so after that. We have a cruise in May and a WDW trip in September and I want to be at a comfortable place by then so I have some clothes to wear and don't hide for pictures. I just want to be done losing weight and in a place where I can gain a pound or two and just work that off that week instead of always having SO MUCH to lose.

Type of food/exercise plan you follow: I use My Fitness Pal (samanthajk09 if anyone wants a buddy!) and recently got a fitbit which I love the way it works together. I joined a gym and am trying to do the couch to 5K program and workout at least 3 to 4 times a week! I'm hoping this group can help force me to do that :woohoo:

Anything else you want to tell us: I'm very ambitious towards losing weight but find I give up part way through the day and eat cookies. I need to stop that! I'm also still nursing my youngest so that will either help the pounds fall off or make it much much harder so we shall see!:banana:

Hobbies/Interest Scuba Diving (that's were Bubbles comes from) Sailing,Biking, surfing, skiing, Disney (of course)

Motivation: I lost 40 lbs last year and 10 has crept back on. I need some accountability. Have a Disney trip planned for end of April.

Exercise Plan Etc: I lift 2x per week, but need to get the cardio back up to 5x week. Lost original weight with Best Life Diet from Bob Greene and My Fitness Pal. Also did couch to 5K.

Anything Else:I don't post very often. I am glad I found this thread.

Anything else you want to tell us: It's been a really hard year of trying to find myself - most of my friends moved out of NYC right as I moved back, and I've struggled for awhile to figure out what I want to be doing with my life, and if NYC is really the place I want to be doing it. Coming home each night to a super chilly apt with very little heat is hard. But, opening this thread keeps me warm. :) Thanks everyone for being an awesome support system.[/QUOTE]

Hang in there Helen! I remember waiting many years for "my life to start". Now looking back those years were some great years. Some great adventures before family life and all the commitments. Try to find a hobby. Might lead to finding some people to hang with. Ski club or beading or something at the Library. Take it day by day and watch for the doors to open! If its not feeling right you can pick up and start over. http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/goodvibes.gif

Hi all! I just wanted to pop onto the March thread and let you all know I haven't fallen off the planet! Been just crazy busy here.... robotics competition last weekend, working almost all week, driving DD to an internship interview on Wednesday, blah, blah, blah. You all know how it goes, right? I PROMISE to pop on and chat as soon as I can find an hour to spare! I am thinking of you all constantly and miss our daily "chats"! But life must go on here! TTYL...........P

Sorry for the late update... busy weekend! Had my hair done (cut and dyed) for the wedding and then my bridal shower thrown by my co-workers (which was very nice of them considering we are having a small destination wedding and only immediate family and closest friends will be attending)!

Anyway congrats to everyone on their hard work last month and let's work towards an amazing March! :cool1:

Well I am in for March, though I have given myself a low goal because we will be away for week and a half and I want to enjoy myself (especially the wedding cake!)....

Real Name: Amanda

Family: DF (soon to be DH)-together almost 5 yrs, DS Mikey (13) and DD Raelee (7), hoping for a DB next year

Job/How you spend your days: Social worker in child welfare for the state... so bsically my days are crazy... lots of paperwork but lots of emergency feild work too... makes for a difficult time eating healthy during the day!

Hobbies/Interests: wedding planning, watching wedding shows, scavanging pinterest and etsy for wedding ideas!

Your motivation for joining this thread: Have been trying to find a healthy balance for years and this board has been the most consistent source of info and support! Couldn't do it without you guys... I may noy get a chance to post as much as I'd like but I do read and keep up with all of you!

Type of food/exercise plan you follow: I use My Fitness Pal too (same name over there!) and also have a bodymedia armband. No specific eating plan... but I count my calories, keep my carbs low and make sure to get at least 80 grams of protein (though this can be hard :guilty:). I have not been as dedicated to exercise in these past few weeks as I have been in but I normally do zumba a few times a week and hike a giant hill (called Tumamoc) with my BFF at least once per week. I really need to incoorporate regular strength training, I have been doing this sporadically but I need to be dedicated!

Anything else you want to tell us: Getting hitched on 3/17! :shamrock:
