WISH Away the Pounds -- Jolly June AND JULY Challenge -- Everyone Welcome!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I saw Monsters University today and thought it was very loveable film. Enjoyed it a lot!!

But the highlight of the day was when I stepped on the scale this morning and I had nearly a pound less than yesterday!! This number was 100 grams (I am on the metric system here) below my lowest number so far just before I left for vacation. And when I entered it in my weight tracking app in my iphone (I do this daily, gives me a great visual how my weight is over all going down in the last 6 months!) the colour scheme of the page went from yellow to green as I am now down to a BMI of exactly 25 and the app now considers me no longer overweight!!! The last time I was this low was in February 2011... I am so excited that I now getting to work on really old pounds, not some which I gained recently!!:banana::banana:
!

WONDERFUL!Way to go! Good news!

Delightfully happy Sunday to everyone! Beautiful weather here today! DD has just one event to swim so we shouldn't be here too long today. From here we head to a hotel closer to Bristol, RI to be ready for tomorrow's college orientation. Sounds like a lot of sitting and listening for the parents.... but I'll be sure to have comfy shoes on to walk the campus whenever I get a break.

Good news is that they are feeding us both days....bad news is that they are feeding us both days! No idea what to expect and I didn't plan well and blew my flex Points on popcorn and M&M'S on Friday and an appetizer last night! :rolleyes1 Not sure what I was thinking! (Obviously I WASN'T thinking!) Fingers crossed that there'd will be lots of fruit and plenty of greens available!

Off to check on how the swim is progressing along! ..............P

Hope to stay on track this week and finish strong with exercise, and staying away from pasta. Like Floss TOM creates problems as does turning 51 next month. The weight doesn't drop easily.

Favorite Dis movie: Beauty and the Beast
Favorite ride: Haunted Mansion, of course

Haven't been to WDW since 2000 I think? Time to go back!

I found out that I can't live without pasta - it is my favourite food! But I have decreased my usual portion substantially. I use a scale and weigh the pasta dry and I am down to 60 grams as a standard portion. I used to eat 125 grams (which is half a standard packet here). Took me years to get down there and I am sure a lot of it was just psychological. I just needed to learn to be happy with less of my favourite food. And I have nearly always only wholgrain pasta at home. I have gotten to the point where white pasta does not taste as good anymore, it is too bland to me.

And it is no surprise that the Haunted Mansion is your favourite!!! :thumbsup2

---

Hope everyone has a great start into the week!!

Mine started with the scale being nice to me again!! I am down another 100 grams. Not much, but it all adds up in the long run. And I am just so happy to see these new numbers!! I think I am starting to see the results of my great totally OP week last week. If I had just looked at it from Friday to Friday I would have been disappointed. It seemed to take longer to kick in. I guess that this is a lesson: if you start doing something new - you need to watch it over a little bit of a longer period of time! Don't give up after only one week!!

QOTD for Monday:

Keeping oyur body hydrated is good for you anyway, but I found out that for weight loss it is even more important. Do you drink enough liquid? Do you drink plain water or something else? Do you have any strategy on how to make sure that you drink enough?

QOTD for the Weekend:

We are starting into the last week of the month! Is there anything you plan to focus on during the next week that will help you to reach your goal of the month?

I worked very hard to stay on track this week-end in spite of the travel related stress and am keeping my fingers crossed for a good weigh in today. :goodvibes

Well, I'm focussing on the running.......went to the gym this morning and did 5K in 47:01......getting a little better each time, but nowhere near as fast as I run outside!! (Current record is 39:59)

Realised today that I run my first 5K in only 2 weeks!!!!!! Have already got £100 in sponsorship for our local Air Ambulance.

Helen, you have some great times for your 5K -- you are making great progress! :yay:

Jill, hope you can find a way to stay cool in the warm weather. :beach: I think you are having a fun summer with your boys! :sunny:

Hope to stay on track this week and finish strong with exercise, and staying away from pasta. Like Floss TOM creates problems as does turning 51 next month. The weight doesn't drop easily.

Of course! :rotfl: Here's some pixiedust: you get to go back to WDW soon.

Pamela, hope that orientation is fun and success! :cool2:

I do a good job keeping myself hydrated thanks to living in the Arizona desert for years and years. :sunny:

Thank you, Magdalene, for hostessing and coaching this week! :flower3:

I will see you all on the July thread. Finish strong! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Good Morning everyone!!

First of all I want to thank Jill for coaching last week! I will be your coach for the last week of June and I hope we all will have a strong finish!

Thanks Jill and thank YOU for hosting this month!

QOTD for the Weekend:

We are starting into the last week of the month! Is there anything you plan to focus on during the next week that will help you to reach your goal of the month?

Since I totally bombed this month, I plan on making this week the best...OP, more exercise minutes, and sticking to the little goals.

Hope everyone has a great start into the week!!

This is one area of weight loss I rarely ever have a problem with. I'm a total grape Propel junkie and just started with the orange Mio drops. I just seem to be able to down more H20 when it has some flavor to it. :goodvibes

:cool1:Monsters University is finally here! Anyone going to see it this weekend? :cool1:

DH promised me next weekend! Whoo hoo!! :hyper:

QOTD Friday, June 21

What is your favorite Disney movie? Also, what is your favorite ride at any of the Disney parks and why do you love it:love:?

Missed that one next week but have to chime in. ::yes:: Movie-that's a tough one but I have to say 101 Dalmations. Mainly because of the one scene where they all end up disguising themselves as...BLACK LABS! yeah!!

And fave ride-that's also a tough one but I have to say it's a toss up between Haunted Mansion and Soarin'. Or RNR Coaster...or the Great Movie Ride...or Expedition Everest....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

******************************************************
So we survived our "Break in the Bar" party Saturday night. I think if it takes you 6 hours to clean up the next day, that's probably a good indicator of how great a party it was! At one point the Wonder Mutt had 4 other dogs running around with her...all black! I found more dog toys around the backyard Sunday morning! :goodvibes Now that that is over with, time for this girl to get her dupa in gear and get back on the "take care of me" wagon....starting with OP every day and sweating my brains out in yoga tonight! :thumbsup2 I know I won't hit my goal this month, but I'm glad to have my head in the right place. What's on everyone's plan for the last week of June? (ALREADY!!!:scared1:)

Argh! I'm a pound away from meeting my goal this month and someone brought in cupcakes and cookies. Cupcakes are my kryptonite, ack! Going to have to stay faaaaaaar away from the breakroom until they're gone. :rolleyes2

Good morning from the Rec Center here at Roger Williams University! DD and I are here for orientation. Beautiful day here on the RI coast....foggy to start but just perfect now! They separated us IMMEDIATELY....:worried: guess that is in practice for the BIG separation in the fall.:confused3 I'm sitting in the gym with my coffee and fruit waiting for DD to join me. Yes, it is my second breakfast of the day, since it was included with our hotel...so I'm sticking with fruit ;)

Eating is a bit of a disaster the last few days and exercise is on the back burner...so I'm already scared for Friday's weigh-in. I didn't make a good PLAN for these days away, so I have no one to blame but myself :( . If you FAIL to plan then you PLAN TO FAIL! So true!

Obviously there was no suggested dress code for this event.....most of the students are in "college 101 basics" of t-shirt and shorts plus flip-flops or sneaks. Parents are all over the board! I'm pretty casual in denim shorts and a print jersey with walking sneakers...but some moms are wearing skirts and heels, lots of capris and sandals, and some like me in respectable-but-comfortable shorts and tops. I'm a bit underdressed from my norm, but with temps predicted into the low 90's and not knowing the schedule, I opted for cooler clothes. Hope I don't feel too casual later.:confused3

Off to read and reply a bit until DD catches up with me :) ..........P

during the week Mon - Fri I have a big jug on my desk at work to judge my amount by but I just can't seem to do that on the weekend.. I only get about 1/2 in .. I do count coffee or sugar free drinks as water but only on the weekends ..

On Friday when we left work we headed to the local wal-mart to do some grocery/shopping and got a call from my DS that water was spraying everywhere from one of our washer hoses.. :scared1::scared1::scared1: so I told him where the shut of valve was and he used every towel we had to sop up what water he could and we just dashed out of the store w/o purchasing .. I called my dad and he said go buy new hoses and install them ourselves - it was easy enough of us to do, but I fear we still have a small leak someplace as the bedroom carpet was damp again yesterday after doing some laundry - so dad is coming down on Wed and I'll have him double check the hoses.. thank goodness DS was home!
Saturday we got up fairly early and headed out to do the grocery/shopping we left behind on Friday.. I actually got some new clothes not from goodwill but real new clothes.. we hit Old Navy, JC Penny, Mardens, wal-mart and shaws then headed home around 5.. after putting everything away Hubs and I had date night and saw Monster's U.. GOOD movie, liked it very much..
Sunday we spent the day doing laundry, going to the dump and getting ready for the week..
Happy Monday - we overslept by about 45 mins!!! :rolleyes1 geez!!!

Holy Toledo, it's hot today!!

But on the plus side, 25 pounds lighter sure does make a difference on how much more tolerable it is.
Maybe I won't die at Disney the next time we go in summer.

Yippee, we're going camping tomorrow for 3 nights - been sorting the tent and putting the roof carrier on the car today.....can't wait to get away into the lovely British countryside. We're heading to Bronte Country, staying only 2 miles from the Bronte Parsonage at Haworth.

Taking my running shoes and clothes with me as I'm sure there'll be opportunities to run down country lanes!!!

Morning everyone! Quiet here lately! I hope that means you are off being active and enjoying all that life has to offer!

I rushed to get here for orientation today so I could have a few minutes to chat with DD this morning only to discover we don't see them until it is time to leave at 3pm! Obviously this separation thing is going to be harder for me than I thought! I did walk by her group outside doing some sort of activity but I didn't want to be "that" mom, so I just waved and kept walking.

Well... We are due to get underway here now, so I will say goodbye for now! I hope everyone makes the MOST of this lovely day! Make good choices in everything you do...and choose to be HAPPY! It will make everything in life seem better....even if nothing really changes! ...............P

Yes I noticed that yesterday (and today) as well that not having all that extra insulation made it bareable!!

Have a great time - I love camping altho I've not tent camped in quite a number of years..

Hugs.. It's hard to let them go but knowing they are on the path to self discovery and greatness seems to make it ok ...... eventually (I think I cried everytime DD left except for the last 2 times this spring..LOL)

Not much going on today except its another hot and dasteredly day here in Maine.. sort of glad to be at work because of the A/C but again would have loved to be at :beach: LOL.. oh well, hope everyone is having a good day.. see you tomorrow..

Hope all went well. I loved touring Roger Williams with both my daughters, and was disappointed neither ended up there....excellent programs with lots of choices: if the student has a change of heart he/she doesn't necessarily have to change schools. Best wishes!!!

Hi everyone! Hi & bye from me for now...this week is crazy, getting ready for our vacation to CA! We leave crazy early on Saturday morning. I'm planning to read the July thread but probably won't formally join as we're traveling so much next month.

In other news, I ran the Chicago Women's Half Marathon on Sunday! It was brutal out there - so hot. I finished 12 minutes slower than my personal best, but I *finished,* which was plenty hard! When I got up at 4:45am, it was already 70 degrees out. At race start, with the sun up, it was at least 75, and the sun stayed strong for the whole race. Oof. But I did it! :)

Happy summer, everyone - I'll lurk along in July and rejoin soon!

So I am in here to quickly post a QOTD for today and will try to be back later with some replies!!

QOTD for Wednesday:
What is your favorite way to enjoy a nice summer day outside of any outdoor workouts?

Either watching TV or reading a book in my hammock under the new tiki hut, of course! :cloud9:

So we're in a holding pattern here in the Sunshine State. A very close friend of ours, who had bypass surgery 4 months ago, hasn't been feeling well. The doctor had him come in for a cath procedure as he saw something he didn't like. While the procedure was taking place (yesterday), my friend's hear stopped three times. After the third time it stopped, they decided to put him in a hypothermic coma, basically freezing his vital organs to limit and/or prevent any damage. He's also on a machine that keeps his heart beating and his lungs breathing. They're supposed to bring him out of it later today. If his heart stops again, I guess that will be it. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts today. He's been the closest thing to a father for me since mine passed away (ironically of a heart attack), 27 years ago.

Thank you everyone!
Kimberley :sad1:

Hiking! I know, sounds like exercise, but I love being in the woods more than anything. We went to the Muir Woods in San Fran recently and it was just amazing...

So sad to hear about your friend, Kimberly.... I hope everything goes well.

It's been a good week here, I think I will have met my goal this Friday if I keep at it. Next month will be challenging, the beau is in town for a month (currently overseas) and that means lots of eating out and at least one week vacationing. But hopefully we'll get a lot of additional exercise - and by that I mean touring and sightseeing! I swear! ;)

I usually drink a ton of water, but I also have been drinking iced tea. I occasionally have a diet coke as well. To make sure I'm drinking enough water, I use a reusable cup with a straw. I tend to drink more with a straw-I sip it all day.

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been so busy with family stuff that I had to take a couple days off of the dis :(

Anyhow, I've been doing great with exercise but not eating :( It's always my problem. I need to track my food better. I always start the day off good, then I lose it after dinner when I grab cookies :/ Hopefully I can get it together these next few days & July!

I'm off to hook up a sprinkler for DSs. I'll check back in tomorrow.
