Wireless controllers for Playstation 2

Help! After the cat again chewing on the Playstation controller wire, I would like to buy wireless controllers for our Playstation 2. Can someone please tell me if it is possible to use 4 wireless controllers at once? Can I buy a multitap and use that with 4 controllers instead of just using 2 controllers with the Playstation 2 box? Also, are wireless controllers easy to use and do they work well? Thanks for any suggestions!

Yes , You have to have mulitap for four wireless controllers, and they work just as good as the non wireless and use batteries, Sam's club has two wireless playstation 2 wireless controllers for 32.00.
