Finally! It started snowing here about 15mins ago. It really looks like it is just going to be a dusting.

Someone asked for a picture of snow. This is today at around 3 pm in South Asheville, NC. It was about 6 inches then, and we've probably gotten another 5-6 inches. Expecting more tonight and it is currently sleeting. BLECH!

That's where we used to live! We've got about 4-5 inches an hour north of you now; I can't believe you've got that much snow already! Stay warm!

We fall under several of those poll answers. We have had snow in the past already that melted completely, we have snow on the ground currently, and we have snow (actually a possible blizzard) in the forecast that is expected to start tomorrow.

I think the news just said that Charlottesville, VA got 9" of snow in 3 hours...yikes. The TV just said that this is turning into a blizzard, I think one of the nastiest storms there can be along the East Coast is a Nor'Easter...yep, that's what this is turning into. This "thing" is pulling moisture off of the Atlantic in a counterclockwise motion, kind of like a hurricane. Right now the forecast is for 10-20" and all the local schools have cancelled Saturday activities and there are lots of local closings this weekend already.

Stay safe everyone - at least there isn't any predicted icing, just snow and lots of it.

We live in the South so snow is a rare occurance here. When we do get it you'd better be able to stop what you are doing and go see it right then b/c it very likely won't stick and you will miss it otherwise. I wish it would snow at least once this year and a little of it would stick as my daughter wants so desperately to play in it. She has seen it once in her life so far.

It snowed when she was 2 and it started around 8 p.m. She and her cousins were so excited and got to build a tiny snowman with what accumulated in that short period of time (which was not a whole lot but seemed like a lot for where we live). Of course by morning ALL of the snow was completely gone and you couldn't tell it had ever been there. BUT she still talks about that snowman constantly and asks when we might see snow again.

We have some from the previous two snows, but it looks like this big storm coming, is going to stop quite a bit south of us with just a little snow (I'm close to Albany, and right now it looks like Catskill is the highest in NY it will hit). I'm hoping they are wrong..nothing like wrapping and baking to snow! We go caroling on Sunday, and I'd love to have a bunch to go with the music! They are saying it could change the track and we could get a little more than a couple of inches. I hope so!

In the last 2 weeks, we have had a total of 18" of snow. The storms occurring in the east we had last week out here in the west. 2 weeks ago we had subzero temperatures, we had -13F one morning. We have not had it so cold here since 1990.

Its been snowing here since last night around 10pm(friday night) and is expected to continue until about 6am Sunday morning- right now we have about 18-20 inches and STILL falling!!

Miami had "snow" in Jan of 1977 I beileve....well...it looked like snow...was actually Flurries that melted before it hit the ground.
