Hi: Do most people avoid the I79/I77 route thru the virginias, north and south carolina to I95 route. We are going the end of feb/ beg march and hubby loves that route over the I75.

We would watch the weather on that route before we left of course and change to I75 if it called for bad weather, but anything else to consider? Any comments?

Thanks,

Deb.

Where are you leaving from? I go from Erie 1-90-I-79-I-77-I26-I95. Before moving went I-81-I77 then rest same. Never have had a problem but do watch weather channel and adjust leaving etc accordingly. I have hit bad ice on I-75 and my son in law and daughter were in bad snow two years ago. So Just watch weather. The I-77 routes have far less traffic than I-75 and no problem with motel & service availablility but not as many as I-75.

We leave Feb 14. Always go 1st to mid Feb

we just did the I90/I79/I77 to I95 route last week. there and back. Not a problem this year. In past years it has been tricky with the weather. Just watch the weather networks and take lots of extra time. Lots of window washer fluid and new wipers are the keys.....
