On a recent trip (early Nov.), I noticed they were building a Winn-Dixie, just down the street from Goodings near the Crossings shopping center. Does anyone know if it's open yet, or when it will be open?

Thanks. I have already checked there. Just wanted to know if they have "offically" opened yet. We are staying at BWV this weekend.

I also saw the Winn-Dixie the second weekend in Nov and it looked like it wouldbe opening very soon. Sorry I don't know for sure.

2 trips in one month;) -I wish it I was going back so soon!

The new Winn-Dixie is open! We went there this weekend. There were "Grand Opening" signs every where. A manager even took our cart to our car, and loaded our groceries. The store is very nice, with lots of variety. There is also a new "ABC" very near the store, for those who may find the need for one.

If I'm coming from hotel Blvd. Do I turn right or left when I get to the Crossings?? Is it cheaper then Goodings?
Thanks

Turn Left at Crossroads. Go through next set of light where the Sheraton Safari Hotel is. It will be about a 1/4 mile on right.

I know somebody that just got back and the said the prices were a LOT less than Goodings... With the Grand Opening Celebrations some items were a dollar or two less than Goodings sale prices.

I for one am glad they finally opened something close by to Disney!!

We went last week of Nov. I had heard that Goodings was expensive so I knew to stay away from there. The 1st store on the right on 192 said Market Place Crossings, I thought to myself, not Goodings we can go here. You have to keep in mind that my 2 dd's were ready for a nap our room wasn't ready yet.

We decided to get some groceries so when we got back we could have a snack and a nap.

It is confusing cause you can see where it used to say Goodings on the outside. But yet there are Winn Dixie signs also. At this point we just needed to get some things and get going. OUCH $4.59 for a pack of hot dogs??!!!
$2.50 for a dozen of eggs. This place is unbelievable!

We got $100.00 worth of groceries, which at wal mart or publix would have been 50 to 60 I'm sure.

Still cheaper than eating at a restaurant though!

Went down furthing next time to publix.

All in all very easy to get to 192 just go down further away from WDW.

DisneyMa is correct.

I think BuzzandWoody is refering to some other store. This place is brand spakin' new, just built. It's never been anything else, but Winn-Dixie.

Instead of going strait across to Goodings, turn left, and get in the right hand lane. There may be a "turn only" right hand lane, don't get in that one. It's just a 1/4 to 1/2 mile further. Once you pass the ABC liquor store, it's the very next right turn available.

The prices appeared very fair, and many things were on sale. They have lot's of souvenirs (Disney/Florida), many pool toys, shorts, tee-shirts, flip flops/sandals, and just about anything else you forgot to bring.

The Deli section is quite large, many fresh baked goods also.

There's an article on this very subject in today's (12/12) Orlando Sentinel.

I thought I read somewhere that Goodings was owned by Disney. Does anybody know this for fact. Seemed a little far fetched.

I don't know for a fact. But crossroads I believe is Disney and coincidentally or not, Goodings is in Celebration as well.

There's another Goodings up on Sand Lake Rd west of I-4. We shop at the new Publix they built just a little ways further down.

More than you probably want to know....;)

Gooding's is a family owned local Orlando chain. Last year they sold all but the store in Celebration, the one in the Crossroads Shopping Center and, I think, one other Disney area store. Disney doesn't own the store but they own the property upon which the shopping center is built. In fact, they own an awful lot of property in that whole area including the Little Lake Bryan area apartments, etc.

That's good news to hear that a Winn-Dixie has opened in a convenient area. This is a big Southern chain and should have "normal" prices.
