Winkflash upload ?

Hi all... I have never posted before and I don't even have a signature yet, BUT I have been lurking for some time now getting lots of ideas for pictures at our upcoming vacation. My question is this: I am trying to upload pictures of my husband's recent trip to the drag races in Topeka, KS. I am uploading about 100 pics to Winkflash and it is literally taking FOREVER! The pics total MBs are 191 and so far, the total time says 2 hours 14 minutes and it is at 77 MB. Should it be taking this long? Have I done something wrong? What can I do to prevent this in the future? BTW, I have to stay on the computer the entire time while the pics are uploading b/c if I walk away and my computer goes to sleep, the connection with Winkflash disconnects. Is this normal? Thanks for any input!

I had that problem a couple of times last time. I ended up uploading about a third of my photo's at a time, and I turned off the sleep function of my computer temporarily.

A lot depends on what your connection speed is, their server speed(time of the day is a biggee). 191 megs is a fair piece, so as previously suggested you may want to separate the up loads. Also, if you are only making 5 x 7's you may want to decrease the size of each of the pics to decrease the file size. Good luck.

Just an FYI and JMO, but I wanted you to know that I ordered prints from winkflash ONCE!! NEVER again!! The quality was horrible!!!

I ordered 230 prints, an 8x10 and a poster from them from our last Disney trip, and I thought the quality was excellent.

I have ordered from Winkflash before and have NEVER waited so long for my pictures to upload. It is now 3 days later and I am still waiting for some of my pics to upload. For some reason, it has a hit and miss connection with Winkflash. We have cable internet, so we are always connected and it usually runs pretty fast. I have emailed them 3-4x now wondering what to do? I want all the pics developed, not just some of them, and they have already taken my CC info when I ordered the pics. I just hope it is not charged until they received all of them. I will keep checking back. Thanks for letting me vent! I am not sure I will use Winkflash in the future, but I really like the 99-cent shipping and 12-cent/picture pricing!

After my frustration and venting last night, the pictures finally went through today! For some reason that I can't explain, the upload program just clicked on this afternoon and uploaded the rest of the pics that didn't get uploaded the other day. Now Winkflash says that my order is processing, which is better than Receiving photos (that's what it has said the past 3 days!). Hopefully it will work and I'll get my pictures soon!
