Wingin' it in February....

Hi everyone! We usually go in January and I have dinners & meals planned way ahead of time. This year we will be going in February. What do you guys think my chances are of getting dining reservations the day of? We are not picky eaters but we do like one nice sit down meal a day. Plus, I thought this might force us to try new places....

Any thoughts??

We never make ADRS in advance, it's always either going to GS in the morning at whatever park we are at and letting them find us something or while walking around getting on MDE and finding what's available. It's a little easier for us because we always have hoppers so the park doesn't matter and we are two adults so the time doesn't matter. When going to GS we will use one of two strategies. We either ask them to find what is available any where withing a certain time frame or ask them to find what is available in a certain park, any time. We have never not been able to find somewhere to eat.

Like PP said, if you're very flexible and you're a party of TWO, you'll probably be okay. If you're a family of FOUR (or more), you're going to have to be more than very flexible and probably eat at resorts, DS, or the less popular EP restaurants.

If you are going Pres weekend it will be harder to wing it as crowds are usually pretty high. I agree with the above poster. Keep your options open, use GS and go to the resorts. IMO food is better in the resort options too.

Use the phone app when you're there to snag next day and day-of reservations during the week. If going on president's day weekend, you will want to try to make any reservations for that Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, as the place is mobbed.
