I've been catching glimpses on these boards that you can do wine tastings in Epcot when the food and wine fest is not going on. Anyone have any information about this?

Is this a formal thing, where we could go into a WS shoppe and taste different wines or is it up to the discretion of each shoppe? Would there be a charge to taste? Are the tastings actually (small) tastings?.....I was able to go to Epcot for an afternoon several years ago during the wine festival and I noticed that all of the "tastings" that they offered were actually full glasses - can't do many of those tastingsanymore..*hic* ;)

Also, any WDW restaurants you'd like to point me towards that might be good for a tasting menu (each mini course paired with a small glass of wine) or that does wine flights (3-4 *small* glasses of wines to try)

My FI and I are avid wine tasters/tourers and would love the opportunity to do a "world" wine tour on our WDW honeymoon. There is a possibility that we will not be going during the wine festival. Thanks in advance for all suggestions!!!! :)

Many of the shops at Epcot (France and Italy especially) often have several wines open that you can taste.

Also, several restaurants offer "wine flights" with meals (Cal Grill, Artist Point, Yachstman Steakhouse, among them).

Most of all - try Jiko. They have an all South African wine list of wines that in many cases cannot be found anywhere else in the US. Great stuff and certainly a new tasting experience.

I've seen advertising for tastings in the wine shoppes in Italy, France and Germany. There is a bar set up in each one. It's the traditional choose ___ of ____ for a set price. I've always wanted to try one, but for some reason I never have. Maybe next trip!

This is one of our favorite things to do. France, Italy and Germany.

Germany also offers a strawberring infused seasonal drink along with the wine tastings.

Italy offers limenciello..try it..it is wonderful. We now keep it in the house at all times..oh, but be warned..if you order it from your local liqour store..order the same brand that EPCOT has..we tried some of the others before figuring this out, and the are definately not all the same.

I've seen that the bar at the Beach Club (it's called Martha's Vineyard, I think) offers wine flights.
