Sometime in the fall around the Food and Wine Festival there was mention of a very excellent wine, I believe it was from Italy. I know this sounds "vague", but once it was mentioned, alot of people chimed in about it. My SIL and I have just started doing some "wine tasting", and I'd like to get a bottle when I'm at Disney next week. Does anyone have recollection of this??? Thanks.

Becky

They are all talking about Banfi Rosa Regale, it is a red, sparkling wine..great for dessert or with dark chocolate.

You don't need to wait until you arrive at Disney to purchase a bottle.

Check your local liqor store, sams club, BJ's or costco. Should be around $20 per bottle, a little less in some stores, a good $5 or more than that at disney.

That's the one!!! Thanks!!! And thanks for the cost tip. Unfortunately my SIL likes white wines. I wonder if I could talk her into this one to try. We'll see. Thanks again!!!

I've seen Banfi Rosa at Giant Eagle for $16 a bottle. Haven't tried it yet. . . but I have some Brunello that is considered one of Italy's premier wines. And the Rosa is essentially Brunello that hasn't aged enough yet. I'm blanking, but I think it's 8 years that the Rosa has to age before it is considered Brunello.

*sigh* I wish my cousin still lived in Italy . . . I wanna go back!

If your SIL likes white wines she might like a sparkling chardonnay-Luna de Luna is one of our favorites-also Italian. ;)

I prefer whites like pinot grigio and LOVED the Rose Regale It was great!!

I too love white wines, but tried the rosa and it was good! Have you tried Beringer's Chardonnay & White Zinfadel mix? It's excellent! Got that at food & wine last year, and have been buying it at the local liquor store since!

Try the Principessa di Gavi - it's a slightly sparkling (not as many bubbles as champagne or sparkling wine) white wine that's light and refreshing. They sell it in Italy at EPCOT, but it's probably cheaper off property.

Thank-you all so much for the wonderful list of wines to try. This is great!!! I hope to try some next week when I'm there too.
