Has anyone tried this yet? I have it booked, and wondered if anyone could give me any information... Thanks in advance!!!!

Am I posting this question in the correct topic? It isn't really Disney Restaurants, but it is about food... :D

There was a wine pairing offered for the first time last year at Alfredo's..and it was wonderful..it was an appetizer, main course and dessert with three wines. I don't have the description of this years in front of me, but, if it is similar you will enjoy it very much.

I went to this it was amazing. You get a lot for what you are paying. We got 3 wines, one white, one red and a sparkling red. The first dish was a salad with shrimp paired with the white wine. The second was gnocci pomadoro paired with the red wine. There was also bread out on the table. The last course, which was amazing was the sparkling red wine (so good) and a dessert sampler, it had pana cota, a cream puff like dessert (I know the real name I just can't spell it lol) and a chocolate covered strawberry.

Everything was really good and it was a nice experience. I would go back to the F&W festival just to go to these.

If you have any other questions about it just let me know! princess:

Ooohh, that sounds wonderful! I haven't read anything about it before either. I have it booked for next Saturday and now I am really excited about it! Thanks so much for sharing your experience, NYPOOH.

Have you tried any of the other pairings? I have several of the seminars I want to try to get to, but I am thinking of booking one more event. I do have the Brewer's dinner booked for Wednesday which I am really looking forward to.

I haven't tried any of the other pairings. We attended that one on our 2nd to last full day and wanted to add more but couldn't because of other PS's. Me and my sister however did decide that we would go back next year just to go to a few pairings. It was that good. princess:

We've done the wine pairings at the Coral Reef for the last 3-4 years. They've all be very good. If you don't like fish, don't worry. Out of the 12-15 courses over the years, maybe three or four were fish. The Coral reef wine pairings used to be 4 courses. This year they went down to three.

We would like to try some of the others, but we only go down for a weekend during the F&W festival.

Well, I just got home from F&W and had a wonderful time. I was a bit disappointed in the Alfredo's Wine Pairing, but it may be that it just didn't compare well to the other events I have done. The salad and main course were very good, and as described in the previous post. All 3 wines were good, although there were no refills offered. The biggest disappointment was that the dessert was a plate of 3 cheeses. I was really looking forward to something sweet and delicious, and blue cheese, parmesan cheese and another that I forget did not do it for me. All in all, compared to the other events I have done, I would not recommend this one, nor will I do it again.

The Brewer's Dinner, on the other hand, was absolutely wonderful and I will definitely attend that one gain next year!

I would have been disappointed with the desser too if we got cheese. Too bad you didn't get our dessert! Was your salad and main course the same as the one we had? (listed above)

Yes, we had the salad with shrimp and yogurt dressing and it was very good. The main course was gnocchi with a bolognese sauce, and it was good, although I never had gnocchi so have nothing to compare it to :) The first wine was a white that was nice, and the second was a Chianti Reserve that was very good. The wine with the cheese was another red - I forget the name but it was from the sangiovese grape and it was fabulous. I kept the booklet and I will certainly be looking for that wine locally.

Certainly the meal was not bad, just a little disappointing. We went straight to the Italy Booth for a cannoli when we left, so I guess that says it all

The third cheese was fontana cheese. I thought the cheese went very well with the wine. Better than a dessert would have. I would recommed this, although it will not be the same the other weekends as it will be a different winery represented. This was Cecchi. The earlier one was Banfi.
