Just when we were getting used to screwcapped bottles of wine and white zinfandel in a box, along comes Aussie Wine, seald in a pop-top can. Perfect for picknickers and effete fishermen
Beginning in July, wine lovers in about 20 states will be able to buy four-packs of vintage-dated chardonnay, a cabernet-shiraz blend or a sweet white blend. The four-packs will sell for $8 to $10 and each contains 250 milliliters, equivalent to a glass and a half.
The keys to the packaging are a "top secret" can lining that prevents the wine from tasting tinny and a spritz of liquid nitrogen that "keeps the wine as fresh as the day it left the winery."
Ohio-based RLB Imports, which is bringing the product to the US hopes to eventually make it available nationwide.
Cool, huh?
